I am 22 years old two months ago I started to get cramps I thought I was going to start my period but did not. 2 weeks ago still no period and pain had gotten worse so I went to my gyn. I told her about my pain and she sent me to get a ultra sound then when results were back she sent me to a general surgen, who sent me to a obgyn.(like my gyn should have). He is doing surgery on me in two days. I have a cyst on my left ovary and one on my right then I have a 7.9 cm cyst atatched to my vaginal wall by my right ovary. He has to cut the one on my vaginal wall out because it is a complex cystic mass. Filled with fluid (dont want that just lasered out, could be cancer, hope not). Most likely will take my right ovary and tube, and maybe my left. I have a question is it normal for a cyst to cause you to miss periods? Well I will be in the hospital for 3 day let you know how it went when I get home. Lots of time to write I cant go back to work for 3 weeks.
About having kids My Husband and I wanted to have a baby october of 2008 so I know how bad it hurts to think that I may never get to give birth. But what good is a baby with no mommy. My cousin is adopted if my aunt would have been able to have kids we wouldnt have him in our lifes. So thats what I think when I am sad.
I am 27 year-old female that has recently being diagnoised with a Complex cystic mass about 9 cen.. I have had the left ovary removed due to the same problem. Now I have to get the other one removed as well. I have one beautiful son that is 11 years old, I would not trade for the world. I have always wanted at least one more blessing, before my clock stops ticking. The only problem is I do not have insurance and I am unemployed. Just looking for some advice on what to do to conceive again before my final surgery.
I am in a very similar situation. I have a large mass that is suspicious for ovarian neoplasm on my L ovary. An option that might be available to you is to juxtapose the advice of a gynecologic oncologist, who specializes in treating gynecologic cancers, with a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist, who specializes in preserving fertility, to see what the two different physicians come up with.
I understand your concern as I am 24 years and have not born any children. I would like to preserve my fertility as well.
Please understand that with one ovary, or actually, even a quarter of one ovary it is still possible to become pregnant and bear children. Depending on the woman it may be somewhat more difficult with one ovary than with two, but it may not even be a noticeable difference.
In my case, I may also suffer from a hormonal imbalance called PCOS which could coupled with the removal of one ovary severely impair my ability to have children even with the other organ available, so I am particularly concerned with the situation that has arisen.
Let me know what you learn.
Good luck.

One of my closest friends had an ovary removed, and over the years she conceived and gave birth to two children, without the aid of any drugs or fertility assistance. So, don't panic if the ovary needs to be removed. Your overall health is more important at this time.
