septated cyst

What does this mean? I only have my left ovary and it is 2.5cm, the cyst is 2.3cm.. but within the cyst we found 5 sepations.
What does this mean? I am in a great deal of pain and all they've given me is Ibufrophen (sp?).. I have to wait 1 week for the radiologist to read the film and about 2 days to get a report.

Should I have a second opinion? I am very worried.
Thanks
tish

I had an ultrasound done on sept 7,05 it showed a huge cyst on my right ovary with 3-4 septations. The radiologist recommended I have a laproscopy done. I don't have an appt with a doctor until tomorrow. Today I had the tech (I work in radiology) look at my ovary again because I've really been hurting and now I have fluid behind my uterus.. The cyst apparently is rupturing or something.... Still can't get in to the doctor until tomorrow... I'm scared to death that something big is going on...
Should I go to the E.R??

Ultrasounds do not take that long.  I had my doctor calling me two hours after my ultrasound, trying to get me in for surgery.

hi there
it is also called a complex cyst.  It has cysts within cysts more or less.  Most are solid and liquid , some are all solid.  My complex cyst resolved on its own although alot of womens don't resolve. Sorry you are in pain.   I would wait for the results on your ultrasounds and go from there.  What you are going thru is VERY common and after you get the facts you and your Doc can come to some solutions.  GLad you found this forum.  It helped me alot when i was going thru the cyst thing.  Good Luck.
