sex b4 surgery?

should my girlfriend and I abstain from having sex b4 her surgery?  She has a  family history of ovarian cancer, a slighty abnormal ca 125 and a tumor involving 1 ovary (which they are removing). Could having sex possible burst this tumor?
should we just rule sex out for now???
thanks
concerned bf

if my gf's mother had a rather large ovarian tumor removed resulting in a hsterectomy (sp) both my gf sisteers have had ovarian complications. one with cancerous cells .. MY gf was told of this recently :mothers condition after my gf's ca 125 test and her sisters about 3 months ago...Would you say this was something that should have been told long ago??? How could they have not known about the obvious "family history"  factor...would u say that some family members made a grave error in discussing this "medical condition" that seems to run in the family??? or should my gf been left to find out on her own (as she did)? Is this a normal, acceptable response?
