worried about problems

Hi,

I had ovarian cancer and had a surgery on sep. They removed my right ovary.  My ca125 level was around 400 before surgery and now it came down to 13.4 .I was not given any chemo because my doctor told me that I had only non invasive ovarian cancer. On feb again they found a cyst on my left ovary of size 4 cm . Oncologist said that it would be a functional cyst and prescribed to take birth control pills. My problem is, actually we were trying for a baby before the surgery and now we are waiting to get rid of this problem. I am very much worried about my cyst now . I had pain on my lower abdomen when I urinate but after taking birth control pills I dont feel any pain . I am going to have ultrasound within 4 days to check the growth of my cyst.

My questions are:

1)Will the birth control pills decrease the size of functional cyst which is found on my left ovary?
2)can I have a baby at this situation?(without doing IVF or so)
3)What will be the next step?

Any one who had the same problem please answer to my questions. Please gimme more information on this topic. I am excepting a positive reply from you people. I need a baby very badly and I am very much depressed thinking about this .

Thanks

there is no way the doctor can say that the second cyst is "functional" without surgery. with your first one being diagnosed as cancer, I would be sure that I got  some good answers before "waiting"  not saying you have cancer again, but in case you do , make that your priority,   a baby is a fine thing to want but your life is important also,  When you have the scan ask for a CA125 also,  Babies need healthy moms, hun, so take care of yourself first.  Good Luck

I am sorry to say I did not have the same experience as you but I had to just post I wish you all the best. My girlfriend had trouble getting pregnant and it got very emotional. Add to that cancer and I don't know how she'd have been. All I can say is I think you'll know more after your ultrasound...make a list of all your questions for dr. and go from there. Hang in there!!
