My daugther's best friend is verbally abusive

My 7 year old's best friend is extremely mean to me.  She has called me a "mean monster", told me that she hates me and threaten me with physical abuse.  "Julie" (not her real name) is 5 years old.  Her parents choose not to disapline their daughter and think that she is an angel. Her dad noticed her treating me this way and did nothing about it.  Julie's grandmother noticed the behavoiur, mentioned it to her son.  He said that she must be picking it up at school.  He didn't appear to take it too seriously.  This has been going on for about 2 years now.  Julie is very controlling over my daughter.  Julie told my daughter's uncle not to talk to my daughter, that she is her friend only.  I noticed that she behaves in this manner with other adults.  Julie's Mom did catch her one day being mean to me.  Her Mom threathen pushinment but didn't follow through.

I do not want my daughter playing with Julie anymore.  I am having a hard time explaining to my daughter the situation so that she can understand.

Please help..............

You are correct in staying away from this family it is not appropiate for her to behave like this , there should be family correcting her behavior, it is best to keep your daughter away she will make other friends I am sure she isnt happy at her friends rudeness, dont make excuses to her, tell her the friend was disrespectful and you do not wish  to  have them to your home anymore. If the child decided to say sorry and she wouldnt do it any more you could change your mind .
