my daughter is sick with a cold and ran a fever for a few days and now the fever is gone and she has a rash all over her back and head and is spreading to her stomach

Look up Fifth Disease, it is sometimes mistaken for a cold or flu and is characterized by a rash.

This happend to my son when he was about 10 months old.  He had Roseola.  High fever 102-103 for a few days then when the fever broke, he got a spotty rash all over the truck of his body (not arms or legs just head, neck, face, back and butt).  Rash lasted a few days also then he was fine. He has also had a normal viral cold, and broke out in a rash too just his body reacting to the virus.
