it sounds like your son is anxious but it sounds like he is responding in the same fashion that you do  re read the last couple of sentences regarding how you say you feel, it may be a learned behavior he has gotten from you.. also check diet. i have anxiety and discovered that is it caused from chronic dehydration, and is also linked to certain foods like prepackaged products and so on..

Yes, it appears your son is suffering from anxiety.  And, yes, anxiety tends to be an inherited trait.  The starting point is to see your family doctor.  If he/she is unable to help you, then ask for a referral to a specialist with experience in anxiety issues.  Anxiety is an emotional, mental and physical condition - very complicated - and that is why most people need help in learning how to manage their fears/stresses/anxieties.  It can also be a very debilitating condition (but you already know that),

It might help to educate yourself about this disorder - try googling terms as "childhood anxiety" or "anxiety disorders" or similar words/phrases to find more information on the internet.  There are thousands of sites with information.  By the way, anxiety is highly treatable and the prognosis is excellent for early intervention.  I wish you the best ....
