Child tantrums and insecurity

I have two kids..my daughter is four and a half yr old and my son is 4 months old. My daughter has been a very calm child all throughout but for last one month she has started crying all the time when I am home. When I am away she is ok but the moment I come home from work she will cry for some or the other thing and keep repeating mumma is bad. when she settles then mumma becomes nice.I dont know how to handle. I feel it may be insecurity or a way to seek attention.

please help.

I would say its a bit of both, she is feeling left out, its hard when a new sibling comes along, she feels usurped , it will get better but I suggest some one to one time with you or Dad, take it in turn to play games, take just her out. When you are changing baby, feeding or playing make sure she is part of it.,make sure she holds him under supervision .As time goes on and he gets older and more playable she will feel happier, meantime focus on her positive side and praise her when you see her doing something right ..good Luck
