6 year old drawings concern me

My 6 year old son has been drawing pictures of trees that have sharp teeth, usually dripping with blood. He'll then draw his parents, his siblings and himself dead from the tree.  He's also drawn pictures with fire (I'm thinking it's because dad is a firefighter) and one in which he described how each family member died--he did not kill any of them as he was also dead. I'm thinking it might be fear of death or of "bad guys".
Perhaps a separate question but when he gets in trouble, he says he's dumb/stupid and about 10 months ago would say he wished he was dead (I think he's a perfectionist and becomes upset with himself). For the most part, he is a happy and sweet child (except when it comes to his 3 year old brother, whom he gets frustrated with). I do notice that he becomes most upset when mom reprimands him. Perhaps he wants to impress her??

Does Dad come home telling you stories about his work and fires, possibly your son has overheard them, ask Dad to tell you in private any scary stuff as its obvious the Drawings are from some anxiety regarding the safety of you all.Hes too young to hear things like a fire fighter sees, also does he watch scary stuff on TV.!  There are possibly some jealousy issues with his brother, make sure he gets as much attention also, Get Dad doing physical stuff with him, Sports, Games out side things just him and Dad ,you get the younger one.More attention, needed, also you could ask for a bit of councelling if you are concerned he could hurt himself.
