You probably have already figured this out, but here's what you do. Have a talk with him, tell him that touching your privates, while very fun, is something that is private and he needs to do it in the privacy of his own room and is just for him (you could add "and someday the person you love" if you wish, but you can let him figure that out contextually later on lol)
Then just give him some space and let him explore himself

P.S. Dont try to stop him. As I'm sure you've noticed by now, you cant stop nature... If you believe you have stopped him from masturbating, either you're very mistaken or you probably abused him into stopping. (Not saying you abused ur kid! lol. Just saying, you figured this all out, I'm sure)
