Wetting and Temper fits

My grandchildren live with me. This is their second year. This past year my granddaughter began terrible anger fits and throwing things at me; refusing to do what I say. She also is wetting her clothes any time she wants during the day and night. She is 6 yrs old! She and my grandson have been in therapy for almost 2 years now. She has permantly ruined her clothes with the urine smell to the point that her clothes have to be washed by themselves. I am at a loss to know what to do. The doctors have put her on a low dose of prozac and a sleeping med to help her sleep. If she doesn't sleep, she wonders around the house and tears up clothes left out. I guess my question is, why now and what can I do to help her?

a 6yr old on Prozac will have side effects I suggest you take her back to the doctor and ask about the does and whether she should be on it. She is upset by something and she sounds as if she needs help.Does she see her Mom at all it could be she is missing her parents ?

Now that she is living in a relaxed and balanced house all her anxiety, frustration ect..  is letting off, you need to take her to a child scyologist and show her love as much as you can.  Also give her blank papers and colours and let her express herself in her drawings.  In that way she expresses her anxiety in a creative way and also from her drawings you can get clues of what is going on inside her.  Also don't hide the truth from her try to be as gentle as possible but may be she has many questions in her head and doesn't know how to go about them or could be somebody is annoying her at school.

Always keep in mind her tender age so even when telling her the truth always talk to her  in a very gentle way as possible.  Good luck
