nerve blocks after foot surgery

on April 1st 2011 I had an operation for a mid foot fusion,here in London England,I was given a nerve block I presume to help the pain,it is now 27th December and my foot is still just as numb as it was when I left hospital,the numbness starts from mid way between my knee and my ankle,will I always have this numbness or will it go away?the feeling is very uncomfortable,I would be grateful for any help,many thanks
