tummy tuck

i am 4wks. post tummy tuck, my belly button is red, but when i do not wear my binder the reddness gets lighter. it seems like the air from not wearing the binder helps it. i am putting bacitracin on the area. the md said i can leave off the binder for approx. 8hrs., then put it back on. i really do not want to wear the binder anymore. any suggestions will help, thank you. hbrand@ aol.com

My Girlfriend had the same problem. She began using sunscreen on her belly button and the redness went away.

Sorry that would be pus like drainage, and has a bad odor.

Wear the binder as directed by your md.  You do not need to worry about the redness as long as you are cleansing and putting ointment on as directed.  You only need to worry if there is increased pain to the incision site, you start running temps greater than 100.5, you experience green or ***** drainage, or if the redness increases and spreads.  I would say that wearing that binder is a small price to pay for this surgery.  Good Luck!
