Implantation or period?

Hello! My husband and I made love the week when I was ovulating. Yesterday, 8 days after that and 6 days earlier than my next expected period, I started to have some pinkish spotting and at first I was hoping that it was a sign of implantation. But then it developed into a medium flow with bright red color. Now it is light again, the color is still red, but it's not too dense. However, there are no typical period signs that I normally get, such as sore breasts, mood changes or painful cramps. Rather on the contrary, there were almost no cramps (usually around 2 hours into my period I can't make it without taking pain killers and this time I didn't even have to take any). The only thing that is typical about this is lower back pain. I have read a lot about implantation bleeding and I realize that it is quite rare, but is there a chance that this could be it and I should just observe, wait and do a pregnancy test in a few days or chances are that most likely it is just a lighter period that started earlier than usual? Thank you for your advice

Thank you very much for you answer. I agree with you about the waiting and I hope that soon you will find the result you are trying for as well! Good luck to you too!

Sorry, meant to add that my advice is to wait it out, as hard as that is because this is all we can think about! And if the bleeding gets really heavy or abnormally painful I'd call the Dr.

I went through the exact same thing 2 months ago and so desperately wanted it to be implantation bleeding but it ended up being my full-blown period 5 days later than expected. No explanation for my spotting and it didn't happen this past month, I just got my regular period on time.
Hoping this month is more successful on my end, and hopefully you'll find the results you're trying for too. Good luck!
