Trying after miscarriage

Any advice on getting pregnant after miscarriage? I miscarried 2 weeks ago. I had a D&C a week ago.  My doctor said I can try again after my period comes. Should I try when I am ovulating after a cycle or wait a bit?

I lost my son at 16wks in September, there was no reason for it. His heart just stopped. I was induced and had him (sept 12) naturally but had a d&c a few days (sept 15) later because pieces of the placenta didn't come out.
I talked to my Dr. and because there was no cause, she said wait til I had a period, take time to grieve our loss, and we could try again when we wanted.
I stopped bleeding the end of Sept. My period came Oct 13 - totally normal. We started trying after that. Period came in November a few days late, and only lasted a few days, continued trying, period came December but came early and was heavy and crampy, lots of clots. I assume I had a chemical pregnancy because I had all the other symptoms of being pregnant, mood swings, cravings, heavy feeling in uterus, etc.
We said we'd try the month of December (but only had sex a few times, lets be honest, making a baby on purpose is hard work, lol) and if I got my January period, we'd stop for a bit. And I took a test the day before my missed period (jan 4th) and got a positive and I'm 10wks today :)
Losing Levi was very hard. I'm glad I didn't get pregnant right away, because even being pregnant now and waiting 3 mos for it to happen, I'm still nervous as hell!
Best of luck to you. Don't try to push your body, it will happen when it's ready.
Also, I could TELL when I was ovulating after my miscarriage/d&c, so it was easy to tell when to jump on hubby lol.

I also had to wait after my 2nd period. The wait is hard but it's time for your body to recover. My doctor also had me take prenatals so my body would be recover and be prepared for when my husband and I try again. I miscarried last year March 26. I'm now 37 weeks due March 10, 2015.
