I am 9 weeks gestational Age (Fetal Age 6-7 weeks) pregnant but my doctor cannot see fetus or heart beat?

I am 9 weeks gestational Age (Fetal Age 6-7 weeks) pregnant but my doctor cannot see fetus or heart beat? What can i expect? The doctor has perform 4 ultrasounds already, the first one was only check up, to see if i was pregnant (wich he confirm), the second one he could not see heart beat so he schedule another appointmet 3 days later to see if was everything ok, so i went last friday he took blood to run a hormons leves and did another ultrasound but the same no heart beat. Me and my husband went today (April 21) at doctor again and he took blood again but he has not give any results from last one, so i dont know if my hormons levels are going up or down.Today he says that it can be too early or is a bad pregnancy, that he cannot see baby at all... Can it be too early? Should i wait until my body reject the pregnancy? or i am pregnant but i take a little longer to see the baby? I am really nervuos and scare this will be my third pregnancy and i really want it to happen....Please if there someone out there that has pass for this let me know

My first pregnancy was as you described yours to be. For me I stayed in alot of pain and I let the miscarriage happen naturally. I also just lost another baby this past week, and had the DnC done. It was not painfull, I came home the same day. They say after a DnC it is very easy to concieve and it usually happens a whole lot faster after DnC hearing others stories. Guess I will found out. Best of luck tough,oh and you can usually return to work a few days later, even though I am taking the week to heal myself emotionally.

im sorry to hear about your loss, i to had a miscarriage in january, i lost my baby at 9 weeks, i opted for the d&c, for me it was the best thing,  waiting for for everything to come away was just to hard to cope with, i have read that if you wait then it could take up to 4 weeks or longer. Or it might happen in a few days, you just really dont know, the d&c wasn't painfull i got home the same day, its advised that you wait till after you next period to try again, its been 4 months since my d&c and ive just found out that im 5 weeks pregnant
again i am very sorry for your loss

I GOT A SECOND OPINION, I WENT TO THE ER YERSTERDAY AND THEY CONFIRMED TOO ABOUT MY PREGNANCY. THE WERE NEVER A FETUS SO THE DOCTOR TOLD ME THAT IS WAS NOT NEED FOR A D&C, THAT IT WAS SO SMALL THE SAC THAT IT WAS NOT HARMFULL FOR ME AND THAT I COULD WAIT FOR MY BODY DO THE WORK ON ITS OWNS. I JUST NEED TO WAIT UNTIL IT HAPPEN, THE DOCTOR AT THE ER SAID THAT IT WAS GOING TO BE CRAMPING AND A LOT OF BLEEDING AND AFTER THAT I NEED IT TO REST. MY HUSBAND AND I ARE SAD BUT AT THE SAME TIME WE GOING TO WAIT TO TRIED AGAIN.
DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE  FOR MY BODY TO HAVE A MISCARRIAGE? I AM 10 WEEKS AND 4 DAYS............ PLEASE ADVISE. THANK YOU

I'm so sorry for your loss.  I did not go through a D&C, my OB allowed me to make my own mind up whether or not I wanted a D&C done or to nautrally allow my body to do what it will do.  I did it nautrally.  Yes it was really really hard, but less than a week after we made our decision, I did have the m/c, at home surrounded by people who love me.  I didn't go with D&C because of the scarring that could take place.  It's up to you on how you wish to proceed, and I am not sure how far along your baby is before it passed.  My body was at 10 weeks but my baby had passed at 6 weeks.  Keep us posted and let us know.

As far as taking time off for work, yes I would to allow proper healing of your body and emotionally as well.

Again, I'm sorry about your loss.

HI MY FRIENDS, I AM REALLY SAD SINCE I WENT TO THE DOCTOR YESTERDAY AND HE CONFIRMED THAT HORMONS LEVELS WENT DOWN PLUS HE CANNOT SEE THE BABY. NOW HE RECOMEND A D&C AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. IS ANYONE OUT THERE WHO HAD THIS DONE BEFORE, IS IT PAINFUL?, DO I NEED TIME OUT FROM WORK? HOW LONG DO I NEED TO WAIT TO TRY AGAIN? I WAS LOOKING FORWARD IN THIS PREGNANCY..

an ultrasound can be done as early as 4 1/2 weeks but all they would see at that time is an empty gestational sac which may be why they didn't see a baby yet that early. Also my daughter's ob doctor just told us two days ago that the heartbeat can't always be heard until 12-13 weeks with the regular OB dr's machine not an ultrasound so she said if we hear it your atleast 12 weeks pregnant. So hang in there a few more weeks. goodluck

It is possible that you may not be as far along. I read somewhere that the egg can implant in the uterus anywhere from 6-12 days after ovulation/conception. I had a positive test exactly 2 weeks after trying to concieve my youngest daughter. The DR test came out neg but I knew I was.

Right now I am confused as ever. We've been ttc #3 since the beginning of the year. I thought I was only 5 weeks and 4 days when I went to have an ultrasound yesterday. It turns out the baby measured 8 weeks and 4 days. I spotted March 30, 31, April 1 and 5th. I also had AF March 13-18 and February 17-22. It has my conception as Feb 20, but I had my AF. I'm not sure if the DR is going to just go by Feb 17 or not. I wasn't expecting to hear a heartbeat, which was 176, and I said to the tech that the baby was bigger than I thought. She said that's because you're further along.
Oh yeah, I have been having HCG tests done also. Last Monday and Wednesday. They did not increase like the DR thought they would so I had another on monday. I am going to see my DR tomorrow.

My doctor did not hear heart beat. In a few days there was no fetus ( though I was 14 weeks preagnant). In a few more days they found abnormal fetus, took HG blood level test. It was as high as 20.000 . I lost my baby on the 8th week of my pregnancy. I had a partial molar pregnancy in January 2009. I cant believe in it even now. Hope you will be OK.

When did you first find out you were pregnant?  What is the 9 weeks based on (is it your last monthly period)?  This would also be useful information to know.

Well by 9 weeks you should see a baby/get a heartbeat.. but I wouldn't stress until I got the results from the blood work. Good luck! I hope it works out for you!

It would be helpful if you could get the results of your homone levels and compare the two, so you know if they are doubling or not.  The range can be big, so it isn't a great indicator of how far along you are, but it would be another piece of information for you to consider.  See if you can get the original results and then call back tomorrow and get the results from today.
