So glad to see your posting and to hear your news! I just had my first internal ultrasound 5w5d and my Dr. said that there is a definate heartbeat but slow (eventhough the US was not hooked up to doppler!!) in his opinion and gave me a 50/50 chance. I am to go back next week. Trying not to stress, your info is just what I was looking for...I think that a heartbeat this early is a good sign. Congrats to you!
sooo happy to hear everything is ok and u love ur new doc!!! congrats to you!!!
ANOTHER update. I changed doctors and so glad that I did. This was the first visit that I was not crying when I left. The doctor examined me and said everything looked good. Also, he did an ultrasound and said the heartbeat was 120bpm!!! I was so relieved since it was at 69 on Monday. I LOVE MY NEW DOCTOR!!!!
i think that you saw a beat of any kind at 5 weeks it pretty amazing - hang on to that for awhile and give it time to develop and grow. you may have caught the first signs of a heartbeat of the baby - and it has to start some where!
Well, here is an update. I was planning on changing doctors after the last ultrasound but then found out that I needed another next week. I decided to call the doctor's office that I was transferring to and ask what she thought about the low heart beat and told me not to worry. She told me to go ahead and change doctors and come in Friday (tomorrow) but that I shouldn't worry. I will post on here tomorrow. Thanks for all of the posts; they have really put my mind at ease.
i did not even see my baby's heartbeat at 5weeks. And was not even informed if they found it and how the rate was. all i know is that they showed it to me but the sonographer said it is too early to see a heartbeat because baby is still like a grain of rice. just remember thinking positive helps more than worrying. it is not good for you and baby. it will be hard especially of what the doctor said but do it for you and baby.
I haven't had this BUT I think it is very rare for a heartbeat to be present at 5 weeks...sometimes it is not heard at 6 weeks...I'd try to relax (easier said than done) and stay positive because it is so early. Good luck!
