Hey ladies, I just have a simple question.. Im 8mos pregnant and now I have a head cold.. My nose is stuffy. Nothing comes out when I blow, when I sneeze it hurts and my head hurts. Besides Vicks vapor rub is there anything else I can take to shake this horrible cold?? And will this cold effect my son?? I have a dr appt tomorrow so hopefully she can help :(

Ugh, I remember that feeling. I felt so bad bc everytime I coughed the baby bounced about too. So as uncomfortable as it was for me I thought it would feel worse for her! Funny thing is, the day she was born the cough went away! Good luck to you and feel better soon!

I woke up with a terrible cold the day I went into labor. Baby was fine, I on the other hand couldn't breathe through my nose, but I lived. :)

Peppermint tea with honey will help if you have a sore throat. Lots of chicken soup and oranges, vicks and humidifiers. If it's really bad you might call your OB and see what they recommend. Pregnancy sickness isn't fun at all, so I hope you feel better soon.

No, having a cold will not hurt him. Pregnant women are naturally more prone to illness, as their immune system is compromised. As for what you can take for it, Tylenol is pretty much it. Nothing will cure a cold, it just has to run its course. OTC medicines can just help relieve the symptoms.
