1. I agree with ashleen, 36 weeks is a full 8 months and starting of 9 months then 40 weeks will be a full nine months and starting of 10 months. i also go by weeks when I tell people how far along I am. But some people look at me dumb founded and say "so how many months is that" lol. I tell them to figure it out. lol. Well unless there younger. lol
2. Im sorry I have never used that oil nor have I heard of it. Whats it for if you dont mind me asking?
3. Just like losing said I would do it as soon as possible since theres so much going on in the last few weeks of pregnancy. I have my baby shower on Sunday, and hopefully plan to get them out with in that week. I havnt even done my maternity pics yet, which I dont know if im still going to have a chance. You dont want to wait to long and make people think you forgot about them lol
4. And I dont have a midwife I have an OB, and I'm 32 weeks right now, he said he will be checking me every week starting at 35 weeks. But I would ask if you could be checked sooner, i know if I were you Id want to know.
yeah i thought it was just my belly. someone at work just asked my friend if i am pregnant. and they said that they can see it in my face. so apparently my face is getting fatter too!
LOL this is the one time in your life that looking big or having people tell you that your belly is huge is a good thing....my husband remarked the other day after he said "you're getting huge," and I smiled, that "Wow normally you would slap me for that" LOL
i go by weeks too, someone looked at me a week ago and asked me "what are you like 4 months" i said, "almost" and realized that was actually a couple weeks away. i must look pretty big :/
that's why I said approximately 4wks...:). I'm with you, Losing...I go by weeks because I could never figure it out to my own satisfaction, so I left it at that, lol.
That's why I just go by weeks and don't bother with months lol. Too confusing.
Jschoch8: depends on if you use calendar months or lunar months.
I jsut googled for an answer to #1 and it really depends on how you calculate. But generally speaking, most women will just say they are 9 mos once they hit 36 weeks. If you count calendar months 30-31 days it comes out one way...if you use lunar months (4 wks) it comes out another. I say just call it 9 mos :)
i just wanted to add a correction to 9 months. There are more than 4 weeks in a month so it is not accurate to say that you are pregnant for 10 months. Its 280 days, which is about 9 months and a week. (sorry geeky math major)
LOL, Losing...that's too funny. I'm pretty sure it's 8complete at 36, beginning of 9...because pregnancy is 9 complete months, so it would be the beginning of 10....I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure what's what it is? and if there are approximately 4wks to every month 4x10-40, but the first four weeks are technically 0-1month instead of 1-2...idk. I hate math, lol. I was an english major...so I very well may be wrong.
ok well apparently ashelen and I have differing opinins on #1 LOL. I'll have to redo my math cuz I may be just confused :)
1. Becuase pregnancy is actually 10 months (40 weeks) at 36 weeks you have really completed your ninth month and are actuallybeginning your 10th. But most people say they are mine months after the 36th week.
2. NEver used evening primrose oil so I can't really help you but I would assume it would leak out some during the night, same as when you have to use yeast meds.
3. I would get out your thank yous as soon as possible a) becuase you have so much going on the last few weeks of pregnancy and other things on your mind it's best to get them out of the way b) it will make your attendees feel better knowing that it was a priority for you to thank them.
4. Never used a midwife but they probably prefer not to check the cervix so as not to aggravate it or risk damage/infection unless necessary. I'm sure if you request it your midwife would oblige. My docs always began checking around 38 weeks or so.
1. 9 months, with 8 completed months behind you. at 40wks you'll have completed 9 months, and be at the beginning of 10.
2. never used 'em, sorry!
3. as soon as possible, but I waited until after my daughter was born (i'm cheap) because I sent pictures of her with the birth announcement as well, lol.
4. no they checked me several times because I was having sharp pains in my cervix...and I was dilating early (1.5cm at about 34wks...up to 2 at 38, back down to 1 again when I was in early labor at exactly 40wks...and then straight to 5cm in a matter of hours, and was at 10 2 hours after that).
I would wait as long as possible to find out because once I found out I was at 1.5cm I kept expecting to go into labor...and I didn't go into labor until 6wks later and it drove me nuts LOL.
