Amnio

I'm getting an amnio done on the 7th of April and if my baby's lungs are good, then they will take her the 8th by c-section.  Just wondering who all had a amnio done and if they hurt.  I hate pain and am already stressing about getting this done.  If her lungs come back needing more time, then they will repeat it the 14th and take her the 15th.  Really don't want to get it done twice!

I heard it doesn't take very long, but I'm not always very good with pain.  Just with all that she has going on....I'm so ready for this to be done and for her to be here.

Same thing with me I was kept overnight and had her the next morning at 10am. Well I didn't even get a steroid shot and my dd was already ready to go on her own. So I'm sure your's will be as well. I was also 37wks. My DD didn't have any problems I had all the problems.

I dont think it takes more than maybe a minute, minute and a half, but when u are in pain that feels like FOREVER. I remember yelling at my doctor to hurry up.

I will pray for you and your little girl. I hope she does great through the surgery. Poor thing. It breaks my heart when babys are born with problems. :(

I will be 37 weeks on the 8th.  My baby girl has some problems and will require surgery when she is delivered by c-section.  I was given the steriod shot already so I'm really hoping I only have to go thru this one time.  Did it take that long?  My DH will be with me because if it comes back ok, they will just keep me overnight and deliver her the next morning.

I'm going to be brutally honest with you cause no one was with me. lol
The amnio was worse than well anything i had endured the whole pregnancy. I had my amnio for the same reasons u did, to check lung development.
With this pregnancy I'd rather hold off 2 more wks then have to go thru that pain again.

My pain was so bad i was sweating and about to puke and pass out.
I hope you don't have to do it again. How far along are you?
