Anyone Use At Home Fetal Doppler?

Hi Ladies,

I'm 9 weeks 4 days today, and my doctor did at Ultrasound at 8 weeks and doesn't do another one until  20 weeks. I go back 2 times in between and am not yet sure if they at least listen to the heartbeat at the 12 and 16 week appointments... BUT, I decided to order a Fetal Doppler to listen to the heartbeat in between. I've read mixed reviews on them. It's still in the mail, and I still have some time to cancel it... Anyone have any good or bad experiences with them?

Just curious because none of my friends have used one.

Thank you!

I have one as well, being on the plump side, there were days I couldn't feel baby move, and it came in very handy. I would suggest you waited for it to come, try it out to see.

I have a Doppler. I didn't like mine because it was all one unit and I couldn't see the readout when I had it on my stomach. When I get pregnant again I will be buying a different one.

A nurse at your Dr's office should use a Doppler at every appt from 12 weeks on.

I use Doppler at home. It is called BabyCom. On the package it says you can hear baby's heartbeat after 12 weeks, but I have heard since 10 weeks. It gives me peace of mind just hearing baby's heartbeat.

Yes I have one, I bought it for my 1st pregnancy. I could not get a heartbeat on it for this pregnancy until 13 weeks, prior to that I could not get it at all. I really like having it. This time around I dont see the obgyn until 16 weeks so it was nice for both me and hubby to hear the heartbeat, makes me feel like things are going good. For the last I used it alot and find it really helpful on the days when I thought I wasnt feeling the baby move alot. Its great peace of mind. I borrowed it to 2 friends, 1 of which had bad bleeding at 30 weeks and she was so thankful she had it, She was able to check on the baby before going to emergency. The other friend has 2 large dogs and got dragged on her belly by them in her 2nd trimester and same thing she was able to check on the baby before going to the Dr. I just found it very reassuring. Its not as good as the ones the Dr's use, but for $ 100 I am more than happy with it.

I'm not sure about that but I know that my dr checked the heartbeat at every app I had. And starting at 24w I could listen to his heartbeat with s regular stethoscope! Good luck!
