Bleeding in the 2nd trimester

I have had three miscarriages before, and I am now 14 weeks 4 days pregnant.  I started to get pretty excited about it then I had a gush of bright red blood the two days ago.  I went to the doctor and he said he doesn't really know whether or not the bleeding was coming from my uterus or not.  He could defintely see that my cervix was bleeding on the outside though so that is hopeful.  Anyway the bleeding has stopped pretty much.  I have been on bed rest and am just having light brown spotting which I am hoping is just left over from the other day.  Has anyone else had this happen and had it be nothing.  Unfortunately because I am on bed rest all I can do is sit here and worry.  Thanks!

Its possible that maybe you have a subchorionic hematoma. I had one and gushed blood quite often. As long as you take it easy (and since you are now having brown blood which is old blood) you should be fine since they usually resolve on their own. I'm now 32 weeks and everything is going great! :)

My friend had the same experience. She was 18 weeks along when it happened. She had lifted something a little to heavy and had some bleeding that day. She is now 22 weeks and everything is fine. do you remember doing anything that may have triggered that? I hope and pray everything turns out okay for you sweetie!
