First I'd like to say I'm very sorry for your loss with your last pregnancy. Taking into account that you did lose your baby at 20weeks, I would not be comfortable waiting until then. You should explain to your doctor that you would like to get the cerclage asap Waiting is not worth the risk. I'm not sure exactly how early it is safe for them to be put in, I'm sure someone else will be able to tell you that, but I would not be waiting until 20weeks. But until you can get it put in, take it easy, rest as much as possible! I hope everything goes well! But congratulations on your pregnancy!

I have had cervical cancer twice and I always get my cervical length checked at 16 weeks, which at that point a cerclage would be performed if needed. Thankfully I haven't had to have one. But sooner is usually better rather than later because the weight of the growing baby will cause your cervix to open.
