Cervical mucus... PLEASE HELP

I had my last period June 17,2010.  I checked my ovulation dates and it said I should begin on June 27-30..... I have been watching out for my cervical mucus.... I went to the bathroom at 10:30am on June 28th, when I wiped there was a little cervical fluid (clot) I picked it up put it between my fingres and it would not break, it was stretchy..... I had sex at @ 12:30am on June 29..... My boyfriend came in me.... On the calander it said June 30th is my PEAK day....  My question is.... When does the cervical mucus turn stretchy? when you are a little fertile?? or when it is your peak day?

The last day of stretchy, clear CM (EWCM) is the peak day. Peak day is when the egg is released from the ovary. Any other type of cervical discharge is not ovulatory discharge but normal vaginal secretions. They can range from cloudy, tacky, sticky, gummy, etc. But it is the stretchy, clear CM that is considered ovulatory discharge. It means your body is preparing to ovulate or is ovulating.

Anytime you have CM you are considered fertile (thought it does not necessarily mean you are ovulating). CM helps keep the sperm alive whether for 5 days or 7 days. So even if you ovulate late you can still become pregnant if you have CM because it keeps the sperm alive. Non-ovulatory CM can become ovulatory CM in a matter of hours. I hope that makes sense!

Good luck!

Congratulations...... Boy or girl??? Any names picked out??

So it sounds to you like I was fertile but not anymore??

Here is the thing... I have been charting since my last period.  and a couple days before I found the strechy cm I was dry.... Do you think I already ovulated even though my cal.dates said my peak day is tom??

I never got super stretchy cervical mucus. I would only get slightly wetter about three days before ovulation and then the day of and sometimes the day before also I would get the slippery/wet cm. It differs from woman to woman. It sounds to me like you were fertile.

If you are trying to conceive you should also chart your basal body temperature (which is your temp. 1st thing in the morning before you get out of bed or anything). A good website to keep track of your temps. and cervical mucus is fertilityfriend .com.  Being able to compare your temps with your other fertility signs is really helpful. The only thing about basal body temp is it takes a few cycles before you can see the pattern of when you ovulate.

Like once I started charting, after about three cycles I was able to see that I always ovulated on cycle day 25; which meant that each month I could predict when I was going to be fertile (cycle days 22 - 25) and combine this knowledge with how wet my cervical mucus was (I'm now 26 weeks pregnant).

Today at I went to the bathroom and when I wiped the cervical mucus on the tissue was  dry/watery no thick cervical mucus... But when I did the cervix finger test the mucus was there but could it have been his sperm or mine? It was stretchy/watery...... or mabey a mixture??? I'm getting confused....

egg white means your fertile but it can appear maybe about 3 days before ovulation but it should be more the day before and the day of ovulation.

cm can turn strechy or eggwhite just before or during ovulation. Its hard to tell when exactly you r ovulating with cm becoz u can have eggwhite cm for several days.however eggwhite cm means that u r fertile.
