Cervix length

So I have been doing some research and it says during pregnancy your cervix length should be anywhere from 4-7cm well when I went to the specialist and got my u/s done he said my cervix was 2.5 cm so does this mean my body is getting ready for baby to come...I was 33+3 at this u/s and I would love for her to come on her own instead of being induced again (due to medical reasons)

It would def be awesome to go into labor on our own rather than be induced and honestly with both of my pregnancies my children tried to come early so I figured they would come on their own the further I got but nope I was wrong :/

I'm hoping for the same thing! With my son I didn't even start to dilate till 39 weeks and my cervix wasn't soft. With her I'm 36+5 and I got checked on Monday and I was 1cm dilated and 75% effaced! So I'm hoping she comes soon and on her own! I was induced with my son due to medical issues as well.

It definitely means your body is getting ready for labor and baby. But your cervix can start thinning/opening for a while and it doesn't neccisarily mean you won't need to be induced eventually.
