Wow your about to deliver Good Luck :-) .. About changing hospital is really up to you. I know my Dr is always on the hospital delivering not his helpers nor any other ob/gyn so im really comfortable with him and as of to the hospital im delivering well it all depends on which nurse you get some are so rude and wont listen to you others are nice and gentle all i care is to have my little angel next to me. But if your changing hospital do it quick, you might deliver any time soon. Best of Luck
Yeah your right, thanks:)
You won't necessarily be delivered by your own doctor even if you go to the hospital where he works. This is because, logically enough, even with being on call, doctors work in shifts. They aren't sitting by the phone waiting for their patients to go into labor and will come racing in. It's kind of luck of the draw who finally delivers the baby, it might be your doc or it might be his partner or it might just be the ob-gyn on call. So don't let trying to stay with a particular doctor trick you into going to a hospital you don't like -- you might wind up in a hospital you dislike *and* delivered by a doctor you haven't met before.
Lol thanks for the advice, I'm young & don't know much about hospitals & I just want the best possible environment for me & my newborn.
If you feel uncomfortable there, don't go there. I know someone who really wanted to deliver at the Zanesville hospital in the state I live in (which would be about a 35 minute drive) because that's where her family lived and she felt most comfortable at that hospital, but her boyfriend demanded that she be taken to Fairfeild medical center (another hospital about the same distance away), but she hated it there. She said the people there are rude and annoying. They hire a lot of young nursing graduates, I even get a little nervous when a younger person has to put a needle in me or comes in to check on me because I feel like they don't understand what I am saying. Well, when she went into labor her boyfriend wasn't home and with no car of her own, and no family nearby to take her, she called an ambulance and when they asked what hospital she is suppose to deliver at, she told them Lancaster, but demanded to go to Zanesville because that is where she felt more relaxed. So they took her to Zanesville. The only problem the hospital had with delivering at a different one last minute is that they had to call Fairfeild medical and get her paperwork faxed over ASAP.
Any hospital you go to there will be a delivering doctor on call at all times, even if it isn't your regular doctor. But if I was ever uncomfortable at a hospital, I would not want them anywhere near me while I am delivering. (sorry for the long story above lol).
