Confused about a pregnancy

I need to know if it is possible at all for a woman to be pregnant for 46 weeks after her LMP date?
My boyfriends ex girlfriend is causing a whole lot of problems because she's pregnant and she's saying that it's his baby. According to him, the last time they were "together" was March 23, 2009. She called him and told him that she was pregnant and then went in for an ultrasound. Then, she called him back about a week later and said that she really wasn't pregnant and they didn't find a baby in the ultrasound. Well, then in July, she emails him with an ultrasound and says, "this is your baby!"
But as time progressed, my boyfriend asked her about her due date. She said her due date was January 27th. If the last time they were together was March 23, then there is no possible way that the baby could be his, right? She keeps saying that the fetus/embryo developed late and therefore, she's pregnant for longer than other women. I need help to know if this is possible or not, because it's tearing up my relationship, and I think that's what she's trying to do. Can anyone help me out?

I agree with victoria01.....if your BF is truthful in the last time he had sex with her then there is absolutely no possibility that baby is his. Good luck to you and your BF.

With a due date of January 27th she would have needed to conceive around May 6th. If your boyfriend hadn't had sex with her since March 23rd there is NO way he could be the father. One of the two is lying, and it sounds like it is her. Tell your boyfriend to not to worry about it and if she keeps it up, just get a paternity test after the baby is born and that will solve everything. Good luck.

I would say its pretty impossible that it is his child if she is in fact due on January 27th and he hasn't slept with her since March 23rd. Even if her baby did "develop late" which I have to say is pretty funny, they don't go by the size of the baby to set the due date unless she actually slept with someone after she is saying she did. If the baby is smaller then when they figured out by her LMP, its more likely that she has slept with someone else or slept with your boyfriend, which would be an issues you two would have to figure out. If "developed late" (by a month or over? gosh) The baby would be considered small for gestational age and would be watched closely for or diagnosed with IUGR, which they DON'T deliver late for, but sometimes deliver early if the baby continues to not grow normally, they wouldn't move her due date ahead. Ive never heard of a embryo or fetus developing late.
