Drink you some caffeine, see if he wakes up, Sometime Addy (my liitle one) has a lazy day, I'm almost 24 weeks. I would I'd call if it's 24 hours. Do you have a doppler to check HR?
Lay down, put ur feet up. Drink water. Count movements in 1 hr. If nothing then yes u need to call. Should be 10 movements in 1 hr. Sometimes we are up and running around and dont notice the little movements.
I think it was around 27wks for me too when my twins started to move less. I was told to keep a chart of the movements. When there were less movements they said to drink cold water with some women it works with warm liquids. Also try to lighly with your fingers tap on the tummy because sometimes the baby is in deap sleep. When counting kicks be sure to stay still, close your eyes and concentrate on the kicks. For me I was on my side when counting kicks. At times I used to get so scared when I did not feel anything but had to just sit still for a little while and focus which is really hard to do.
Try to relax. If there is still no movement call your dr. When is your next appointment, if not in couple of days I suggest you make an appointment. Dr may not think of it as anything wrong but will bring your mind to peace. Good luck
My next appointment isn't for almost 2w...I just made dinner, I am going to eat, I just got a cold glass of water...hopefully one of the two will get something going...I tried to drink something hot earlier like at 3:30 and that didn't do anything...after I eat, I'll lay down and see if I get any movement...I'm scared =(
Thanks for the quick answers...I'll update...
Well, its been almost the hour and I think I felt two small movements...while laying down on my left side...still not sure if I should call doc...what do you ladies think...?
Give it the night. I am 29 weeks and have days where there is little movement too. You don't have any other pains do you??? I would call the dc in the am if you are still worried. But if you can't stop worrying go to the Er to double check. I am sure all is fine though. I would relax and get some sleep and see how the morning goes
my nurse said drink ice cold water and lie on your back. you should feel the baby move within 20 mins of that.
i am 34 weeks and there was times that i did not feel the baby move for hours. mostly when i was walking around alot because when you are moving you can not feel them well and your movement puts them to sleep.
I just recently had yet another glass of water and ate a large frosted cinnamon bun I bought for my husband to see if sugar would help...I don't have any OJ and I don't have any caffeine in the house...AND I usually don't eat sugar because I try to eat healthy...I've felt several more movements since then...not super strong like I would like to feel but movement nonetheless =)
Now I think I can go to sleep! But I'll probably be up peeing half the night with all the extra water I've been drinking lol Worth it though!!!!!
Thanks ladies...It just is scary when all of a sudden things slow down! I might call my doctor's office in the a.m. just to see what his opinion of fetal movement is (when I should worry or call so in the future I am not in limbo) because we have never really talked much about it...earlier on (20w) I remember feeling the baby one day and not the next and he said that was normal but recently we haven't discussed it.
kicking right now =)
I am right behind you in weeks and I have been feeling the baby move since 19W, and DH and the rest of the world can feel her move from 21W. I am now 26W 3D. She has her busy days where all she does is move, and her not so busy days where she just sleeps, or is in a position that it's harder for me to feel her. I went to the ER at 22W for another reason, but they told me that if I don't feel 4 good kicks in a one hour period sometime during the day then to go back to the ER. They said just relax, put your feet up, and count as they go.
If your extremly worried then go in. Better safe than sorry.
the baby may have just moved into a different postion and you are not feeling as much.also at this point the baby an have slow days or active days. sugery drinks is usually what helps so try that when it happens again (or food)
UPDATE:
I called my doctor to see what to do if this happens again and he said if no movement within 2 hours and I've tried to coax movement with ice water, sugar etc. to go to L&D to get checked...He and the nurses were so nice when I called this a.m. They were like you should have called us last night (even though it was after hours and he would have gotten paged at home etc.) Next time I know to call and they won't think I'm a cook or over reacting!
Luckily baby was kicking strong since 3:00a.m. a dozen or so an hour some hours =)
Yay! Baby should be fine, probably bored out of him mind in a dark watery world with muffled sounds. I'd say eat some spicy food, that should wake him up or play some loud music. You'll be fine. Oh and what child doesn't like sugary stuff!?
i'm glad you're not so worried anymore.
wanted to share that with my last pregnancy, there were days (i think it was btw 25 and 27 weeks) where i felt little to no movement. I didn't panic because i had a doppler, but they were definitely long stretches with little to no movement felt. In addition to the possibility of the baby sleeping, it is more likely that s/he turned or moved positions. my placenta was on the outside, so when the baby was turned to kick in that direction, i was unable to feel many of the movements. i'd turn on the doppler and she was definitely moving- i just couldn't feel it.
I'm going to be 28 weeks tomorrow an my baby is the same way. Some days he moves none stop an others, like today... hes lazy. He sleeps ALLOT. Every time I have had a ultrasound he has been sleeping. So its normal. I have a doppler too. Its a great peice of mind. Anita
my baby moves all the time every few hours but a few days ago i barely felt him for 2 days even afetr eating! Im 28 weeks, but now hes all over the place lol i think they just have there quite days. They are only human :) But after a few days i would check it out just in case.
A note to everyone. If you have decreased fetal movement. Get off the computer and call your doctor.
My sister had decreased movement at 28 weeks. She waited one day to call the doctor and then following day she had to have a c-section, delivering a 2lb 5oz baby boy. A clot had formed in the cord and he was no longer getting anything.
If she would have waited any longer she would have lost the baby.
So don't ask, call or go to the hospital ASAP!
Good luck on the rest of your pregnancies!!!!
I have gone 2 days an felt nothing just last week. Well... on the 3rd day my little guy started moving allot. An now I see my belly move all the time too. I have a fetal doppler so that keeps me from worrying. My dr told me that if there was some thing wrong then his heart beat would not be normal. My baby just sleep allot. But his movement is getting stronger every week. Anita
I now know, 2 hours is the limit! If there is a next time, I'll get seen asap at labor and delivery...luckily I've had lots of strong movement again =)
My dr said to eat a meal then lay down. See if you can count 5 movements of ANY kind within an hour... if you can, your fine. :)
