Diapers!

My boyfriend and I are buying diapers to stalk up so it's not as big of a financial burden when baby is here. I was wondering how long on average are they in newborn sizes before they move to ones? I understand every baby is different but on average would be nice:)
Thanks!

Be careful doing that, many people say a lot of the diapers end up not getting used.

That's why I'd just like to know how many newborn diapers people have used before switching up to ones. We've only bought 100 so far and we got a good deal on them.

I would buy one big bag of NB, a box of ones and a box of 2s

I'd wait on the newborns and stock up on ones and twos, maybe buy one box of nb just to have them when you're home from hospital and go from there because most babies won't be in nb for too long unless it's a special circumstance like twins or premature. Probably around a month or less give or take how fast baby is growing

My baby is three weeks and she's gone through 3 boxes of newborn and I need to buy another box, she hasn't touch the size ones yet, and I have 4 boxes of those. I would buy newborn diapers too, newborn diapers go up to 10 lbs and size ones start at 8 lbs. so you can get good use out of the newborn size. The boxes I had have 96 in a newborn pack. I stocked up on size ones but ended up having to get newborn just before and after she was born

My kids were never in newborn diapers and they were small, the hospital I deliver on only Carries size ones so I would start with that. We bought 2 boxes of size ones and we are going to be picking up a box of size 2. I wouldn't even worry about newborn, my daughter was 4.7 lbs and son 5.10 and I used ones so save ur money and buy size 1 and 2. U can always flip down the front of the size one diaper easily

My little girl was 7 pounds 3 ounces when she was born and when i went home, the hospital gave me a pack of newborn diapers of roughly 30 diapers and that's all i ever used. After those were gone, i went to size ones which start at 8 pounds. This pregnancy, in just buying sz1 and up and if i happen to need a pack of newborns, ill buy them at the time cuz id rather do that then buy packages and have them not get used.

It kinda depends on the size of your baby, the newborn nappies we got went up to 9lbs and my son was 9lbs when he was born - thankfully we had only bought 1 pack of newborn which had 36 nappies in it, that lasted us our hospital stay as I was in 3 days, we went straight onto size 2 when we came home, which is 9-20lbs, as I had gotten a bumper box of 192 size 2 nappies in costco, he 6y weeks now and they're pretty much done so onto second bumper box x

what you could do, is get a gift card for a certain store where you want to buy your diapers from, and just add on the price of a box every tinem youd be going to buy one...and just have the money card after the baby gets here so you dont have to worry about anything going to waste...or maybe you could put like 10$ a paycheck on it...that would help alot..good luck momma :)

If you buy diapers from Walmart and they are unopened you can always exchange them, neither of my kids wore more that one package of newborn diapers it really depends on how big they are at birth and how much weight they lose the first few days, my son was 7lbs 11 oz and 19 inches and my daughter was 8 lbs 4 oz and 22 inches long so neither we're huge. Just to give you an idea.

My daughter was 6lbs 9oz when she was born and the nurse put a size 1 diaper on her but within minutes it had fallen all the way off,  no matter what they did, they couldn't get it tight enough to stay on. I would honestly wait until you have baby to buy too many newborn diapers, a bag is okay but you don't wanna buy too many in case baby is bigger. I'm waiting until I'm released from the hospital to buy newborn diapers, makes it so much easier.
