Down Syndrome

Okay so a couple days ago my baby had his anatomy screening ultrasound. It revealed he has 2 cysts on his brain called chroid plexus cycsts. The doctor said they occur frequently in about 1 in 100 babies. They sometimes can be linked to chromosome abnormalities like trisomy and down syndrome. The trisomy was ruled out because everything else looked normal, but I had some further blood test screenings to see if my baby has down syndrome. They said everything looks normal so they didn't recommend the amniocetisis test because 1 in every 350 woman miscarry with the test. I am now awaiting the results. Im nervous that my baby may have down syndrome and wont have a shot @ a normal healthy life. I love my baby regardless and will give him all the love he needs no matter what. I just don't want my baby to suffer. Im probably over thinking it but I naturally just worry for my babies well being.

Good luck honey! And if it means anything at all, I have a down syndrome baby in my family and she brings lots of love, care, and cheer with her everywhere she goes. So glad Hattie is in my life

If they said it wasn't trisomy of any kind, then your baby doesn't have down syndrome.  Trisomy 21 is also another term for DS. There are many forms of Trisomy with just different numbers that have something to do with the chromosomes.
I hope this sets ur mind at ease.
And I agree with the above statement. :) Just because a person has down syndrome it doesn't necessarily mean they won't have what we consider a "normal, healthy life" there are different severities of it. Take a deep breath, your baby will be beautiful no matter what. But like I said, if the doctor has already ruledbout trisomy,  then more than likely, your baby probably doesn't have DS.

A 'normal' life isn't important and the end of the day, what is normal? Down syndrome children and adults are amongst the happiest people I've ever met and are totally able to learn to their best ability and get jobs and relationships etc. No matter what your baby will be loved and extremely luckily to have a mother as strong and living as you are x

It's normal whether Dr's find something or not to be worried. I hear MANY stories of women who had this problem and it literally all cleared up on its own (: I can't tell you not to stress it, but until you know for sure try to relax. alls in God's hands. And it's great that either way you'd love and care for that child. Some mom's can't. All will be ok ♡♡ don't stress stay blessed mama (:
