Ectopic Pregnancy

I am 3 weeks 4 days pregnant today. It was my 1st appt. since i found out that i am prego. The doctor did an ultra sound and she couldn't find the baby. She told me that it can be possible that it may be an ectopic pregnancy, but after she told me that she said to not worry because it may also be too early that we still cannot see the baby. Has this happened to anyone? I am really worried.

If you're only 3 weeks pregnant, the baby is only 1 week. There's nothing to see that early. It's unnecessary and foolish for many doctors to do early scans, especially that early. The best time to do them is 7+ weeks.

Just 2 months ago I had an ectopic pregnancy but no one knew it til I was bleeding at 7 1/2 weeks when I finally went to the ER and they did 2 ultra sounds (abdominal and vaginal) and that when they realized the baby ruptured my right tube. I would say 3 weeks is to early but if you feel any pain, cramping I would call the dr. Best of luck to you and a Happy and health 9 months

Theres no way they would see a baby at 3 weeks. I was 6 weeks with my daughter and they couldn't see her on the u/s, I went back when I was  about 7 weeks and they saw her.

Thats way too early.  Usually an ultrasound isnt done till 6-8 weeks.  It also depends on the sensitivity of the ultrasound equipment.  Good luck.

I've heard that a lit if an u/s is done too early. It's usually better to wait till 8-10 weeks. Good luck!
