Evening Primrose Oil help

I bought some evening primrose oil today, it's 1000mg. The directions say to take 3 a day, but I'm 39wks today & was already 4-5cm dilated & 90% as of Tuesday...so should I take more than 3 a day since I got started taking it so late & I'm already so far along? Please help! Lol. Also, have any of you had any success with it?

It worked for me with my 1st as well. It is true that it helps with period cramps. I take it pretty regularly. It also helps to soften the cervix. It also has been known to minimize tearing.  I would take the 3 orally & 1 in the vagina. I would open mine squeeze some of the oil around my vagina then stick the rest inside.

I take them and it has softened my cervix and quickened everything not slowed them down. I am 40w+2 days. I also take one vaginally once a day.

Primrose oil is meant to take during your period to help with cramps. Basically slowing down contractions which is the opposite of what you want it to do. I'd return it. Also, no matter how late you start something, NEVER take more than the recommended dose. It is possible to od on herbal supplements and vitamins.
