Finally Home With Baby Aiden!

I just wanna thank Cindie again for posting my update.

I'll have pics up as soon as I can.

My c-section went better than I ever expected.
I had a nervous breakdown right before the surgery ofcoarse but after I got in there and got my spinal and laid down, my bodys natural response from shock and panic caused me to slip in and out of conciousness.
So that helped me ALOT.
I don't remember a whole lot but I remember them preping my stomach, I remember my hubby coming in and sitting next to me, and I remember them pushing on my stomach so hard I freaked out cuz I couldn't breathe AT ALL.
Then I remember the nurse showing me the baby.
I don't really remember anything else except the anesthesiologist telling me he was gunna give me something to calm my nerves. And the next thing I know I'm back in that lil prep room they had me in before my surgery. lol

When he said that I was thinking, "Yeah, that woulda been nice to have gotten BEFORE I came in here!!"
lmao

The spinal block was great.
The anesthesiologist was super nice and stepped me through everything.

I don't really remember if I felt anything, I don't think I did.
I only remember being in there for like 5 minutes. lol

Once they got me into my room thet gave me morphine and it turns out I'm allergic. lolol.
Took me 20 years to find that out. lol
So they gave me demoral. [[sp?]]
The nurse I got during the day was AWESOME.
I loved her.

The next day they took my cathider and IV's out but accepted my request to wait to take them out after Josh had gotten there so as soon as they took them out he could help me take my first shower.
They started me on perkicets [[sp?]] and they worked GREAT!
I was up n about like I never had surgery up until this morning when I started on the vicodin they sent me home with.

That hospital in general was great.
I was finally released last night and the 3 days I was there was very comfortable.
The nurses offered to take Aiden anytime I felt I needed some rest [[even though I preferred him in the room with me.]]
They came twice a day to take him back to the nursery to do vitals and baths n what not.
I took that time to shower and snack.
They brought me free stuff from the cafateria and even offered stuff to my mom cuz she was the one staying with me.

I spent most of my stay munching on their ice with sprite. lol
Their ice was AWESOME lmao and the sprite help relieve some of the gassyness I was having issues with. lol

Aiden is slightly jaundice but will be fine.
We gata go back to the hospital tomorrow morning for his check up.
I'm waiting for a call back from my obgyn for approval to get a perscription of the perkicets cuz viciden isn't doing ANYTHING for me.
1 didn't do it, and 2 isn't barely helping either.
So hopefully he'll call me in some for atleast until I get my staples out Monday cuz once those are out the pain won't be as bad.

I'll post pics soon.
Thanks all for all the advice and support and good luck to all who are next in line for their deliveries!

I had the itches really really bad after my c-section.  It was so long ago that I don't remember what they gave me that caused it.  I remember the doc saying something about the meds they use for the spinal can cause it.  I, too, had a sedative and was really out of it most of the first day so I don't remember much.

Congrats I am so happy for you Riot!!!!

And with the morphine sorry you are allergic to it......it's not that great of a drug any way. It is normal for most pain medication to make your skin itchy.....morphine, dilaudid, vicodin, percocet......and so one. But the fact that you had a visible rash makes you allergic. Most ppl think just cuz it makes them itchy they are allergic but that is not the case.

And again I am so happy for you!! And Aiden is such an awesome name. My 3 year olds name is Aiden.

Congrats!!
benadryl is safe, but may dry up the milk a bit. if the baby is jaundiced, i wouldn't recommend it.

Ask if you can take Benadryl while breastfeeding. It helped SOOO MUCH when I was itchy. I guess I'm allergic to either morphine or demerol too cause the exact same thing happened to me. Anyways, the benadryl helped me, but I wasn't breastfeeding while I was taking it, Elijah was on oxygen in the nursery the first 24 hours, and then I had to give him formula after cause he was a little jaundiced and my milk hadn't come in...

smjmekg ~ After my c-section the nurse injected morphine straight into my IV line in my hand and not even 30 seconds later my arm with the IV in it from the elbow to my low palm got a blotchy rash all over it and it became WICKED itchy.
And the nurse said it was an allergic reaction and wrote it down on my chart to make sure no one else gave me any. lol

My legs and low back, SPECIALLY the sides of my buttcheecks [[lmao sorry if tmi]] are WICKED itchy.
My mom said it's the after effects of the spinal, that the same thing happened to her.

I'm hoping it goes away soon. It's too itchy to ignore and I'm just scratching and scratching and scratching and it feels sooooo awesome when I itch it I can't friggin stand it!! lmao.
But it's getting really annoying specially when I'm trying to breastfeed and the side that itches is the side that my arm is full. lolol

Oh well.

My nurses at my OB's office said if I want something stronger than the vicoden I'd have to come in for an exam and I told her that I have an apt Monday to get my staples removed and that it'd be pointless after that cuz after the staples get taken out the pain will be less and the vicoden should work better. I just wanted something for ATLEAST till I get the staples out, so looks like I'm just gunna have to suck it up and deal with it.

Well I'm off to bed, I gatta go back to the hospital tomorrow cuz they wanna do a check up on him cuz he's got a little jaundice.

Thanks again everyone.

Welcome and congrats (as If I hadn't said it a million times already!).... You can repay me when I have mason and post an update :)

Megs2girls7~ I had norco w/TJ but before that due to me walking a LOT (the nurses were threatening to tie me to the bed! lol) I had to get a shot of demerol on 2 occasions. It didn't loop me out or anything. I'm wondering how this birth will go since I won't be stuck walking to the NICU 5x a day, lol.

I'm so glad you had a great birth experience. VBAC or C-Section makes no difference. Baby  Aiden is the most important no matter how he got here. Just because you had 2 c-sections doesn't make you any less of a woman. Enjoy your little one! (I'm so jealous...I got bit by the baby bug!)

smjmekg- I had dilaudid (which I have had for other medical reasons and had no reaction) and was itchy after my c-section. My nurse said it was from the spinal. They gave my benadryl and I was fine.

CONGRATS!!! Glad to hear it went good this time. I can't wait to see pics! How did you find out you were allergic to morphine? I had morphine and demerol during my c-section and was itchy for the next 24+ hours.
