Congrats...mines next wednesday.how far along are you?
My OB dated me 11w + 6d today. But the Dr & US tech today said I'm measuring closer to the end of 12W. I have no clue what my LMP was so they used my first doctors US and my HCG levels to figure it out I guess. On one of the pictures it states 12W6D but at this point my OBGYN says we'll keep the same date. It's confusing lol.
I feel you there. I knew when my lmp was first u/s put me atat 6w3d ,which made no sense but we shall see Wednesday what this ones says.my other half wants to knw what we are having so bad.
This appointment you went to..is this like the first appointment you go to? I have no idea what to expect!
Lol very true...did you have the same issue with your other kids or were you right on with those dates. With my two others it was right on this on seems to be the difficult one, seeing how ive been sick with this one...lol
The first appointment I had was with my OBGYN who did a vaginal ultrasound, listened to heartbeat, and just did regular vitals, gave me some information (a folder/binder) and discussed some things. I've had the same one for 3 children though so I am sure you can expect to cover MUCH more.
The appointment I had today is "FIRST TRIMESTER SCREENING" which for me was at the local hospital, where the equipment is more advanced and they look for specifics. I'd say it was focused on awareness and testing for Down Syndrome abnormalities. Then some blood testing as usual with most appointments.
Good luck! :)
My doctor never actually gave me "due dates" as my weight and the babies size fluctuated. I'd say it was generalized down to a week. Every case my kids were all induced. My contractions started alone with my first but they had to push it along after 28 hours. Every labor since has been scheduled by my doctor. My uterus is rotated and I have several factors that leave me labeled "high risk" so I just do what I'm told. It's worked so far!
I'm also very impatient. First they say boy - then they say girl - then my conception date is anywhere from May 31st to June 6th and it really gets me irritated. I have 2 boys - 1 girl - and 1 adopted 15 year old brother. My fingers are crossed boy - just because my daughter will NOT do well sharing the spotlight - but I am happy irregardless! I hope everyone has as pleasant experiences as I have. Never be afraid to ask questions on here!
It's really hard to tell the difference at this stage, before 12 weeks it's not accurate, as they both look the same, but I'm guessing boy!! Glad he/she is doing good, and healthy, and you got some pictures for your husband!
I think I admire you. LOL. I don't know how tacky that is but I read so many of these posts and I have to say you give some of the best advice and most straight forward info I've ever received. I'm sure you know it already but I wanted to say thanks. I get really irritated watching people ask if they're pregnant and when I read some of the motivating things you say it keeps me comming back. Wrong place but just wanted to speak my mind.
I was induced with both mine as well just bc thats what we decided on. My son was the hardest had him at 40w 2d. My daughter was great.hoping this one goes just as great. Good luck to you.
Thank you Nichole!! That is great to hear, because I know some people don't think so, haha! I just know I've been the one wondering constantly am i pregnant, trying to conceive is stressful, thank god that's over!! And I hope you get your boy, I just found out I'm having a little girl and SO excited, we have a son already so this will be a new experience for me, that's for sure!! Do you think girls are easier or harder than boys?
My daughter was a pain. She tells us she's the queen. Shes almost 3 n just so whiney. I mean .. I loved dressing her, painting her nails, doing her hair but I turned her into a diva. I'll have to post pics tonight. She's sassy as ever! I'm more protective of her as well. Boys just were easier here. They don't cry if a lil ketchup falls on thier shirt.. lol! But its all worth it in the end!
Each time I was induced it got faster and easier. My last was 9-12-09 .... I remember getting the drunk cocktail ... Waking up an hr later ... And my doctor laughing saying... What the Hell. Why arent you pushing yet??!! Lol.
I have a niece that is the same way!! So I guess I'm in for it because I love dressing up, nail painting and doing hair too!! I LOVE clothes, it's been my biggest problem so far, I've bought a TON of clothes, haha!!
Your in for a treat then! One girls enough in my house though daddy already said he's got it covered if that happens. Good luck! Buy lots of hair pretties! And brush her hair starting young. Everyone is amazed my daughter sits for an hour if ill curl her hair. :)
Ohh yeah, definitely will brush her hair as soon as she's got it, and already have lots of bows, she'll probably be bald just because I'm getting hair accessories ;)
My daughter was bald. I swear I told everyone if I used to soft baby brush I would stimulate hair growth. I even refuse to cut it. I went as far to tell her daddy if he did I was going to cut off his baby maker. Lol. That's serious stuff to a momma who wants a little princess !
Definitely is!! She will be having no hair cuts until she has a substantial amount of hair, haha!!
Congrats.. Glad it all looked good! That is a huge relief but really why do they go thru that whole thing to scare you and then say oh everything looks fine... But I was pretty certain at my 12 week ultrasound that I was having a girl although they wouldnt even guess. I only had to wait til week 17 to find out but sure enough I am happy to say I am actually finally holding my little lady... She is 16 days old today!! :) She was 13 days late.... But thats ok cuz she was little anyways... I think with how technology is these days that they are starting to be able to tell sooner than they used to. They all say to wait til week 20 but my sister found out at 14 weeks and I feel like my 12 week ultrasound gave a pretty good show that she was definitely a girl and not a boy!
See! That gives me Soooo much hope! I think ill be the irrational mom that can't wait 6wks and ill go pay for another in a few weeks. Congrats.on your baby girl!!! How are you both doing?!
I am due for the first trimester screening on Mon.. Ithink I'm more excited about seeing another US. Did your dr tell you the test was optional?
Yes. It was optional. But who wouldn't want to see baby?
