That's a good question, I was wondering that too. Because yesterday I got a positive test and my HCG was at 19. Granted I test two or three days before my period was about to start, so I am wondering were exactly your HCG actually comes into play.
Good luck too.
Just clearing something up...would the hcg level of a woman who had implantation at 7 dpo be higher at expected AF than a woman who had implantation say 12 dpo?
They took blood when I was 3 days post spotting, so I didnt know if it would register yet. If I had like 3 and it doubled then I would only be like 6 and I dont know if that would be a positive. Plus some say implantation takes 3-4 days to complete. I'm all confused. I just know everytime I get a negative I feel it had to just be too early, I dont know when to convince myself it isnt the case. I should get the result of my blood work today or tmrw
You are correct, however those numbers vary and are not something to go for sure by. For example, when I was a day late (for AF) I tested positive and also had my blood drawn and had an hcg of 150. Then a week later I had my hcg checked again and had a level of 3,000 - so my numbers tripled. Even though my numbers were what they were, doesn't mean yours will be also. Some women on here have had higher numbers then me at the same time, while others had lower. If you are getting negative tests and think you are pregnant, I would have the doctor get bloodwork done for you and have them check your hcg level. Anything below 5 is considered not pregnant.
