HCG levels and HPT

I'm trying to figure out when to stop testing. I figured that the light brown spotting I had on the 6th could be IB so I am basing this on that. If I started with a level as high as 5 and doubled every two days I would be at a testable level around 6 days later with a level around 40. Or 5 days later considering it would be somewhere between 20 and 40. If I had level to start with around 3 and it double every 72 hours instead of 48 hours (which is normal) I could test positive around 9 days later with a level about 24. So I can consider a negative hpt to be the real deal 10 days after my IB???

Is it possible to have a hcg level lower than 3 before getting pregnant? I think I am 7 days late, which seems really late so I would expect an answer by now, but the day I expected AF I instead got a half a days worth of light brown spots. I might have expected my AF on the wrong day, I am usually a bit irregular. So I am working off of a possible IB and expected hcg levels from that day. I feel sooo preggers and with the bleeding I think my levels just aren't at the testable point yet. Did I do my math right?

That's a good question, I was wondering that too. Because yesterday I got a positive test and my HCG was at 19. Granted I test two or three days before my period was about to start, so I am wondering were exactly your HCG actually comes into play.

Good luck too.

Just clearing something up...would the hcg level of a woman who had implantation at 7 dpo be higher at expected AF than a woman who had implantation say 12 dpo?

They took blood when I was 3 days post spotting, so I didnt know if it would register yet. If I had like 3 and it doubled then I would only be like 6 and I dont know if that would be a positive. Plus some say implantation takes 3-4 days to complete. I'm all confused. I just know everytime I get a negative I feel it had to just be too early, I dont know when to convince myself it isnt the case. I should get the result of my blood work today or tmrw

You are correct, however those numbers vary and are not something to go for sure by.  For example, when I was a day late (for AF) I tested positive and also had my blood drawn and had an hcg of 150.  Then a week later I had my hcg checked again and had a level of 3,000 - so my numbers tripled.  Even though my numbers were what they were, doesn't mean yours will be also.  Some women on here have had higher numbers then me at the same time, while others had lower.  If you are getting negative tests and think you are pregnant, I would have the doctor get bloodwork done for you and have them check your hcg level.  Anything below 5 is considered not pregnant.
