Has Anyone Experience Back Labor

Well i'm currently only 25 weeks but my niece is 38 weeks pregnant and she she thinks she might be having back labor. She says she has cramps but it starts in her back and and her stomach gets hard. But her back hurts her alot she cant lay on it anymore. There iregular so there not coming exactly 4-5 min apart. Do you think its time for her to go in or wait it out. I've had 2 children myself and never experince what people call back labor so i'm not sure
what that's like. She says between 1-10 her pain is at about 7ish

What do you ladies think?

Before I went into labor with my 4 child, my back ached a lot.  We were walking around at a carnival and I kept complaining about my back.  It wasn't like cramps or contractions, it just hurt.  My mom said, "I bet you'll go into labor soon!" and I had my son the next day. :)  So it CAN be a sign of early labor, but doesn't necessarily mean she'll have "back labor".  I didn't, with that one.  In fact, of my 4 kids, #3 was "sunny-side-up" which should have given me horrible back labor.  I noticed NO difference in my pain, compared to my others, and in fact his was the shortest birth by quite a bit.  So don't let her be too scared, having heard horror stories about back labor.

Well she never went into labor active labor... she had contraction but only stayed at 1cm.
She went in today and the doctor said she was going to irritate it down there to hopefully get something started.

Has anyone ever heard of that and has it started labor for anyone?

I had back labor as well with my first and it was HORRIBLE - since the contractions are not really all that close together she might want to start timing them and watch for them to be 5 min or so apart... BUT if her pain is really bad and she cant take it any longer its probably time for her to head in

I had back labour with my daughter, and it was the worst pain I'd ever felt. It started in the morning, and felt just like my back was sore. They came around every 15 minutes. As the day went on the pain got worse and worse to where I wasn't able to breathe or think when they hit. It felt like someone was stabbing me in the back and twisting. I went to the hospital (personally) when my contractions were 1-3 minutes apart. I was 5cm dilated and fully effaced. Have her time her contractions and see how far apart they are. She can also call l&d and see if they think she should go in or not.
