Has anyone else had a really long weird first period after a D&C?

Have been bleeding/spotting lightly for 10 days now. I usually bleed for 4 days and then spot for 1 more. The doctor says it must be my period as my last blood test was 3 HCG...
Has anyone else had this?

I'm sorry Amanda! It is common, though, for women to experience this after giving birth and m/c. I'm telling you, my hormones are still out of whack! I think this is why I'm having such a difficult time ttc. When it finally stops and you finsh your cycle, when your next cycle begins if it's still irregular or not like you are accustomed to, i would go see your doctor and maybe have him/her do a check on your hormones. Hopefully, the bleeding will stop in a day or so.

Ok. I am now offically bleeding (still) on day 12.

Yeah my frist period following my DnC was a little longer and heavier.  Is it still very heavy or spotting?  Your first period is not a normal one, so don't be alarmed.

I already bled after the D&C though.
I bled from the 13th March heavily until the 20th March when I had my D&C and then bled until 28th march after the D&C.

So when I miscarried I bled for 14 days straight. Doctor says that i am having my period now and I have been bleeding for 11 days straight.

When do you think I can expect the bleeding to stop?

I had a DNC last April and this past October, both at about 11 weeks along.  After my 1st DNC I thought I was going to bleed forever.  Yes, you do bleed for a long time after, don't be alarmed about bleeding for 10 days.  Your body is still getting a lot of stuff out.  Sounds normal, don't compair this bleeing to your period.

yes.  mine first AF after my d and c in Oct 07 lasted between 8-10 days very light, except for one day when i though i did  not even want to leave the house.  since then i also have very bad cramps now with my AF, which i never had before.  hopefully your periods will start to become regular again.  i also think the shear fact that we were pregnant screws it up because my friend who just had a bay says her period is strange now since giving brith as well as my cousin said the same thing.

i can't remember anything about my AF right after m/c. i do know that a few months after that my periods were very different. irregular, lighter, heavier...every month something different. my doc said it was probably due to the stress my body endured and that a lot of times when a women m/c or gives birth, etc, that our hormones can change causing changes in our flow. hope this helps.
