Heartbeat question

I had a doctors appt today and I am 11 weeks pregnant. I took 2 nurses then finally the doctor to hear the heartbeat so needless to say I was terrified we wouldnt find it but they did. He said the heartbeat was 164 is that pretty normal? My sons was only 140 at this stage so it seems so fast!!!

It's normal.  It's also normal to sometimes not hear the heartbeat via dopplar at 11 weeks.  We almost didn't hear it with my last preg at 12 weeks...it was extremely faint.  I had an anterior placenta with that pregnancy though so it sort of masked the sound of the heartbeat.

Whoa I haven't been on this board in a while and I missed that you were pregnant again. Congrats!!

That heart beat is great! Kaelynn was always between 160-180 until the last two months and it lowered to 140-150

At 11 weeks is still a bit hard to find the heartbeat sometimes bc baby is small and easy to hide in places like against your hip. It's scary when they can't find it but it is tricky sometimes. Sounds like your baby is playing hide and seek already ;). But yes that's a great heartrate anything from 120-185 is indeed normal and the heartbeat can fluctuate day to day. I was worried bc one week heartrate was 10 beats a minute lower than the week before but they said baby was probably sleeping and it was still in the 140's so no biggie. It is SO hard to not worry though. I am 27 weeks now and this is my first baby and I still get nervous about everything.

Congrats and enjoy :)
