How early to take HPT

I usually have a very regular cycle of 25 days. This month I KNOW I ovulated about 3 days earlier than I would have normally expected. How soon should I take a HPT before my missed period since I know I ovulated early?

FROM EXPERIENCE I can tell you that I took an Early Detection HPT 3 days before my period and the same day of my missed period..
BOTH NEGATIVE
Then I took 1 3days after my missed period and BOOM BFP(bigfatpositive)

wait until 3-7 days AFTER you miss your period to get a reliable result. Thats the best way.
