Each doctor does internal exams differently. I'd have one doctor and couldn't feel a thing and then another would make me want to scream in pain. In my experience, the men docs are always more gentle.
Anyway, three weeks left!!! WOO!!!
Thanks you guys! only 22 more days! Im really hoping it did start something......hehe
Yes, it is very normal to feel uncomfortable after an exam. But yes, it can also start labor if you are ready. I had to go to L&D one time because I had fallen over the weekend and had been having some contractions. My doc wanted me to be hooked up to the machines to make sure the baby wasn't in any distress. She was fine, but the nurse said they would not check for dialation because that could actually cause me to go into labor. I was about 33 weeks at that time.
I hope you feel better soon!!! Almost there!!!!
I've had two exams and both have been painful. The first one I bled afterwards for a couple hours, then it went away. The second one I was sore for about a day. All of your blood vessels down there are super close to the surface and everything is swollen due to hormones, so any kind of contact down there is bound to be extra sensitive. No worries unless the pain lasts longer than 24 hours or so, or you have bad cramping - which would be really rare.
LOL thanks, I was very stress this morring,LOL so maybe thats why........ I Had a exam last week and it wasnt painfull. but then again, I have seen two different dr.'s so two different whys of doing things as well.......
I never hurt with my first child either but as you already know every pregnancy is unique. This may just be a one time deal or it may happen. I do know that in my experience, if I'm tense or stressed (which let's face it, it's not exactly a plesent experience) it tends to be more uncomfortable. Good luck. Maybe next time it'll be okay.
thanks, I just have never hurt after an exam, even with my 1st son........
It sometimes does hurt. That isn't really uncommon. I know a lot a women it happens to. I am at 25 weeks and had an appt yesterday and am sore today from it. But if you start to bleed from it or have any bad cramping you need to call your doctor to let them know. Remember it's better to be safe than sorry. Your doctor gets paid to make sure you are okay so if you have a question, worry, or concern you should call him or her. They would rather you called and it's okay than you didn't call and it's not. So, if you are cramping or bleeding... go call your doctor. If nothing else they should know even if it is okay (which it sounds like it is).
