I have a strange question ladies.....

I'm 16 weeks an 3 days.  I have a fetal doppler that I love so I know where my baby is.  Well... my question is... i looked online to see how high the baby should be at 16 week.  The websites I found all said the baby should be where my belly button is or lower.  Well... I listened to the baby last night an he/she was above my belly button.  Is that normal for 16 weeks?  Could I be further alone?  I have not have a ultra sound since 7 weeks.  ( I measured at 7 weeks at that time.)  My periods were crazy so I cant tell by that.  Anita

I'm so jealous that you could actually hear your baby on that. I tried everyday and had my DB and sister try too, no one could ever hear a heartbeat. I would sit there for hours hoping to hear  a heartbeat, all I ever heard were funny stomach noises.

I agree with ashiepooh. Try listening to the doppler in different positions and do it a few more times. Maybe she is just moving around. BTW, What kind of doppler do you have? I'm looking into buying one, but not sure which one to get.

Your baby could be groing slightly faster than  most babies.  it happens quite often!

well i listened to the baby's heart sitting up.  He/she was at the top of my belly button.  Not as high as before.  but still not as low as the online pics.

Are you laying down when your listening?  Cause when you lay down your urterus moves and falls back towards your spine.  So standing up or sitting your uterus will be just below the belly button
