Is my baby going to be ok?

I am 20 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, and 36 weeks pregnant and i have only gained 6 pounds! I weighed 150 before and i now weigh 156.  I keep expecting to have gained more weight each time i go for a check up, but i havent yet.  I am starting to get worried but the doctors havent said anything to me about it and dont seem to be concerned. As the weeks go by and it gets closer to delivery time, i get more nervous because i am scared that something might be wrong with my baby.  Is the baby going to be okay?

actually you dont weigh alot for 5'6..a healthy 5'6 woman can weigh anywhere between 130-160. i am 5'6 and weigh 145 and i am not a "bigger"lady by anymeans, im always known as the "tall, skinny girl"..it just depends on how you carry your weight

You weighed a lot for 5'6" to begin with. I am fairly sure this is why the dr's haven't said much. They don't want bigger ladies to gain nearly as much.

you probably lost regular weight and gained baby weight.  You are going to be one of the lucky ones, like my mom, who looses weight when they leave the hospital.

So long as you're eating right, drinking a lot of water (and no pop, coffee, etc) then you're probably just fine. If you had severe morning sickness with vomiting, then that could be the cause of the weight issue.

My sister-in-law ended up weighing less at 9 months than before she found out she was pregnant!!! She she has two HEALTHY babies! Don't worry yourself, hon!
