Just an update on us...

Well Lil Ms. Lily is now 30 hours old.  Shes' down in the nursery now waiting for the pediatrician to do his rounds and to get her hearing screening.  The breastfeeding is going ok.  It takes forever becuase a) she doesn't like to wake up when it's time to eat and b) when she does finally latch on she dozes frequently so I have to keep stimulating her to stay awake.  My milk hasn't fully come in yet but I can tell she's getting a few good bursts here and there.  She'll be lazily sucking and all the sudden she picks up speed for a minute or two.  So, hopefully that will continue to go well.

As for me, I'm still not sure what's going on.  It's been almost 24 since I had that episode of blood/tissue loss (tmi: but it was a LOT of blood and tissue)  My bleeding has continued to get better.  I went from wearing 2-3 pads at a time and soaking them in about 2 hours  to just one pad and can go several hours without it getting full.  I did pass a large amount of clotting early this morning.  Nothing like that since tho.  The doc has had me taking methergine since all this started.  He ordered for me to have 4 doses taken every 6 hours so I took what I assume was my last one this morning around 6.  My belly is a bit tender from where the nurse was having to manually squeeze my uterus and massage it.  That s-ucked to say the least.

My BP has been going up and down.  Right after the blood loss it went to 90ish/70ish and it's been back up to 130ish/90ish and back down to 100's/70's  and all over in between.  They are supposed to be drawing more blood this morning to check and see if my hemoglobin has gone back up.

My nurse yesterday kept mentioning a possible tear as the cause for the hemorraghing, the doc didn't mention that, he says it's most likely because I've had so many babies that my uterus is being stubborn and no wanting to do what it's supposed to do..that and the fact that they took my IV out too soon.

I'm still fighting this cold...now apparently my kids are all sick too...Gabe and Alex had sinus congestion and discharge yesterday...Zach woke up with a bad barking -type cough this morning.  Poor Lily is gonna really work that little immune system of hers.  Fortunately I had this crap BEFORE she was born so hopefully I built up some antibodies to wahtever this particular crud is and was able to pass them to her.  She's also being exposed to it in moderation from me now before she's bombarded with it when we get home.

She's such a sweet little girl, she hardly makes a noise (yet) until she REALLY starts getting hungry or cold.  Her cries aren't even really cries yet...still more like mouse squeeks.  It's adorable.  She looks just like the rest of my kids.  She has an underbite just like they all did, hers isn't nearly as bad as Gabes was tho.  I'm gonna try and upload some more pics.

Well I'm stuck here until ATLEAST 530-600 this evening. They finally came and checked my hemoglobin and it had gone down 8.5 so they started me on iron and are going to recheck it at 5.

Lily is ready to be discharged, everything is pending based on what my hemoglobin does.

Yay!  Congratulations.  Fingers crossed all your blood work comes back ok and your bp and blood loss are all stable enough so you can go home today.

Just wanted to say CONGRATS! I was trying to post a note on your profile, but this horribly slow internet wouldn't let me. I did happen to see some pictures of beautiful Lily and she is exactly that, beautiful! So glad she is finally here. DF thinks she looks like a little doll, he said he hopes our Kora is just as beautiful lol....He hopes she at least has hair, as do I, cause we both dread bald babies lol.

I can't believe they are allowing you to go home already! I remember with Conner, I had him at exactly 2am on October 14, and I had to stay the whole day of the 14th, the night of the 14th and didn't get to go home until the 16th...mandatory 48 hours, which was bogus lol. I think my doc just wanted to ohhh and ahhh over him before we left lol. I hope my doc only keeps me for 36 hours, hell hopefully I get out in 24. I will do my peeing and pooping right after delivery, and start waling down the halls agitating everyone lol.

Anyways, I have 3 hungry little boys, and a daughter who seems to think it's funny to kick mommy right in the bladder! So congrats on your very adorable little Lily! She's absolutely beautiful!

Thanks Girls.  I just saw the on call doc.  (Not my obgyn)  He said as long as my bloodwork looks good I should be able to go home around supper time.  He said that the pediatrician I use typically likes to keep the newborn for 36 hours so once that time is up we should be able to leave.  So probably sometime after 2.  They still haven't come to take blood but the doc said he'll check on it for me.  I'm ready to go.  I'm not looking forward to going home to my messy house.  I also know it's gonna be crazy with everyone being sick and a newborn etc.  But atleast then I'll be among my own things and can get more comfortable than I can here.  And I can actually eat a decent meal.  The breakfast they sent me barely qualified as a snack, if that.  DH can't bring me anything cuz he's at work.  He'll leave long enough to come pick me up and take me home.  I'm still working on getting those pics up.  I have several I need to send from my phone to email and save to my computer so it's taking awhile.

Aww...she's a squeaker! I forgot what Elijah sounded like when I first had him, I just remember his cry was so CUTE!

Glad to hear your bleeding/BP issues are getting better. Have they said anything more about when you get to go home?

I hope Lily doesn't get sick, she's so new! Can't wait to see pics!
