Lower stomach pains at 35 weeks

Hello everyone,

I'm 35 weeks pregnant tomorrow and for about 2 days now I've been having these low stomach pains that feel like heavy menstrual cramps. I have had some BH in the past few weeks and know what they feell like; these are not BH. Thing is, my belly doesn't get hard so I'm confused on if they are contractions at all. I get the feeling the baby has been dropping, so I'm a little worried that I might be pre-term... I've got an appointment with my doc at thursday, just a regular check up, but I'm unsure if I should call her before that.

Oh, I don't have any issues with my bowels btw. Never had any during this pregnancy, still go to the toilet on a regular basis so it wouldn't be constipation. I take good care of getting enough fluids on a daily basis and don't suffer from flatulence either. I eat healthy. The only thing I suffer from a little is heartburn, although that's gone down a lot over the past week.

Well! Turns out it's all due to my baby dropping. When I started getting pains in my groin, I gave my doc a call and she said it's all because of the dropping. The good news: he's dropped almost completely now, so I don't have to worry about going into labor.

Not necessarily. I never found it easier to breathe. My midwife said it was because I was shorter, so she was still long enough to push against my ribs and lungs and cause breathing problems. What you've described sounds typical of how far along you are. Watch for signs of pre-term labour though (in case) like bloody show, more than 6 contractions in an hour that don't let with water or movement, water breaking or a slow, continuous leak,

Yeah but shouldn't that also mean I'd have an easier time breathing? Because right now I can't seem to catch my breath at all :(

To be honest with you, I really want a happy and healthy baby, but I'm also getting to the point where I don't want to be pregnant any more. Bleh!

It could be pressure from the baby settling into the pelvis that's probably why your heartburn has gone away a little. I wouldn't worry as long as they are not getting stronger or closer together. Call your doctor if it's really concerning you. But more than likely that's what it is.
