Mucus plug and a bit TMI

Okay - so we all hear about the mucus plug - but how many of you actually saw it or remember when it came out?  I had a check up (at 36 weeks) last Friday and they were really diggin around to check on things.  Ever since then the amount of discharge I've had has been dramatically different than before the last check up.  Once yesterday and this morning it looks like someone blew their nose on the tissue (except in color).  The amount of mucus that came out of me was TREMENDOUS to say the least.  It hasn't been a 'bloody show' at all - no red/pink tinge at all.  Clear and maybe tinted a little brown if anything.

My question is this - how many of you remember how far before you went into labor did you loose your mucus plug - and how far in advance was it?  Okay- so maybe that's a two part question...

Thanks - it seems like once yesterday and once today there has been a HUGE amount of mucus and other times more than there was before the check up where there was 'diggin' - I'll be curious to see what the doctor finds on Friday.  I haven't had any cramping/contractions at all...  I'm not due officially until July 11 but would love to be able to predict when the big event will occur!  Guess it's anyone's guess...

I never lost mine! That I can recall. My sister lost hers about a month before.....

Some women can lose their plug or parts of their plug weeks (like 6-8) before they go into labor. Others don't lose it until they are IN labor.  For me I didn't go into labor wth my first i had an emergency c-section.  With my 2nd I remember losing it as my labor began...with my 3rd and 4th I never saw it come out.

My mucus plug came out in chunks for about a week before I had my 1st.  It was yellowish and blood streaked - it was gross!!
