Mucus plug question

My doc told me that I am 2 cm dilated. Does this mean that I have lost my mucus plug or is it possible to still have the mucus plug even though I started dilating?

I just had sex and took a shower and some crazy looking stuff came out. It didn't look like semen usually does. I'm wondering if the sex dislodged the mucus plug or if I have probably already lost it?

You could loose your plug during labour. I am 40wks and 3 days and lost my plug 3 wks ago (well that is what the hospital said) i just thought it was another bleed.

wow...you are 40 weeks!? Girl you are there! =) Like the other poster said, you could still have your plug...it just depends. I lost mine gradually over almost 2 weeks. Mine was tinged with pink/blood. Can't wait to hear when you have your baby!!! =)

It is possible you still have your plug... I was 2cm dilated then later that night I started losing it. TMI but sometimes it looks like whitish/clear jelly that comes out sometimes stringy or even chunky. Some women's come out it one chunk rather than gradually... so it all kind of depends :) and sometimes it is tinged with a pinkish color... How far along are you? If you have any Q's feel free to PM me anytime!!! Good Luck!!
