Please Answer :( Totally confused on this question.

Okay I took a medication called risperdal for about 6 months. I began lactation as a side effect from it on the third month. I stopped taking it after i decided i wanted to try and conceive. Now here is the tricky part. My periods have'nt been normal in years... usually they are between 35 to 40 days between cycles. My sister and Mother are the same. The only time they were earlier was when i was on birth-control and that was a while ago. They would come on the 32 day. Now I've been off all my medications for 4 months. Im worried that i am not ovulating due to Im still slightly lactating. Plus my period is extremely late. Its been 51 days sine my last period (Oct 11). I took a pregnancy test on the fortieth day and it came out negative. I know due to medications that my period would be off the first few months but should it really be this late on my fourth month with no medications? Im worried i am not ovulating due to lactating. Ive read up on it and maybe im just being wishful. It said continuously breast feeding usually causes you not to ovulate but I do not breast feed at all and the lactating is very light; However, if the lactation is preventing me from ovulating what can i do to make it stop?
please help a girl out!

Hey there! I'm not sure on the lactating part but I wanted to let you know that it could take a while for your periods to work themselves out. A couple months after I went off the bcp I had a 60+ day cycle (I was totally convinced I was pregnant!). It's normal and your body will work it out. If you want to know if you're ovulating or when I'd go on amazon.com and buy a load of the cheap ovulation predictor dip sticks they have, they worked for me!! My cycles are totally irregular! I also started charting my bbt and that helped too!! Good luck to you and I hope you figure it all out!
