Pregnancy after miscarriage!!!

So I had a miscarriage Sept 21st 2010 and I bleed for two days..I wasn't that far along...so the question I am asking is it's October 18 2010 and we have been trying to get pregnant..When is the earliest I can take a pregnancy test...after I miscarried I took a pregnancy test to make sure I fully miscarried and the test said no...so should I take one like October 22nd that way it's been four weeks since my miscarriage. Any suggestions on what I should do??? I want another baby but I don't want to keep taking test...if there all going to say no right now...what do you guys think on when I should take one?? I have irregular periods as it is so I wasn't going to wait till my period to start trying so we just have been having unprotected sex since a week after the miscarriage!! I am sorry for your loss... and well I got pregnant in the same week as my miscarrige, because my HCG dropped to below 5 within 2 days. Which is what it needs to be for you to ovulate again. When is the normal due date for your period??

between the 8th and the 12th of every month...so now it's the 18th do you think I should take a pregnancy test???

i conceived right after my misscarrige and he is a healthy very active 10 month old hes my track got bfp feb 14 09/ m/c march 7th 09 (7 weeks) bled for a week  af was due april 7 09 took hpt the 8th of april 09 negitive so i thought it was comming any day waited till the 18th took another digital and got a bfp was so happy and he was born healthy baby boy dec 20th


so moral of the story yes you can get pregnant and yes it would be ok to take a test i recomend digital as it clearlly says the word vs lines and just always give it a week if it says negitive try it again af doesnt show sending baby dust you way good luck

So I took a pregnancy test last night and it said negative...so when should I try to take another one??? I don't know when or if I will start a period in November!!

Oh okay good advice cassandrajane...I also took a fertility test and based off the paper I guess I am ovulating...So does that mean I am not pregnant then?? I have never taken a ovulation test before so I am a little confused...My baby and I are going to keep trying though...it's bound to happen if it's meant to be right?? well have a good day ya'll!!!

I have NOOOOO clue about Ovulation tests!! other people do though.

I didnt test untill nearly 2 months after my MC.. I just figured my period was having a holiday...

Just because your last pregnancy ended in miscarriage. Doesn't mean your next one will. 1 in 5 pregnancies end in miscarriage (This is what my doc said)

I have been pregnant four times and two live births..i am blessed with my two children and want another one but if it's suppose to happen it will happen... i am far from being greedy about it though... I will test a month after my miscarriage and see what happens... I was only 4 to 5 weeks pregnant this last miscarriage. My oldest was born in 2007 had my first miscarriage in later in 2007 i think i was about 8 weeks.. and my youngest child was born in 2008 and now another miscarriage in 2010. I do have pcos but my doctor said that obviously i can still have kids..lol. So i am hoping if i do concieve again it will be great...keepin my fingers crossed and hoping for the best..thank you for your help.

I will keep you updated with what happens when I take another pregnancy test on the 23rd that way it would be 1 month and 2 days since i miscarried and hopefully i get a positive pregnancy test.

Ive been pregnant 3 times in the space of 6 months... My first I didnt know about untill 22 weeks, I was anorexic and seriously ill and had to terminate therefore my next pregnancy ended in MC, and then I got preg within 4 days of my miscarriage!!

I am sorry for your losses :(... But you cann still obv have kidss :) which is good!!

If you have taken a ovualtion test and ovulating then your not pregnant,but now is certainly the time to get busy.as others have said just because you have had one mc,doesnt mean you will have another.good luck,and keep trying.

Well I took a pregnancy test today and it said positive..but with a very faint line..that's what happen last time before i miscarried?? is that happening again?? Its been four weeks three days since my miscarriage and now I get a positive test back today...Very faint..and it wasn't the first morning urine..I called my midwife and I am trying to get a blood test today and make sure everything is happeing okay the way it's suppose to do...Do you think I may have another miscarriage if the line was very faint?? I am going to take a more expensive one here soon I just don't have to pee right now... so let me know what you think!!! Have a good day

Just because it was faint doesnt mean anything... a line is a line! :)... With this pregnancy, started off strong,, I had HEAVY bleeding... and then theyy stared getting fainter and fainter. I'll be 7 months Sunday.

Test again with First morning urine! OR Hold in your wee for a VERY long time! :)

I think I am going to hold it in...Im trying to go get a blood test to confirm pregnancy and also make sure my hcg levels are okay right now...I don't want to get excited or till my boyfriend till it's for sure this time...so I don't know...i don't want to wait through this weekend not knowing things are okay or not.

Firstly they need to find out,that its not HCG from your mc,the hcg can remain in the body for up to 8 weeks.the fact its faint maybe that its from your loss.did the doctors run tests on you.its only when your hormone level drops,then you will get your period.fingers crossed this is a new pregnancy,let us know what the blood test results are.

You had a Negative pregnancy test after your Miscarriage didnt you...?? Because your HCG from miscarriages lasts 3 weeks max...
Plus you ovulated which means your HCG was 5 or below... you would have got a neg test anyways...

so this is possibly a new pregnancy

I think it is a new pregnancy because I took a pregnancy test like five days ago and it said no.. and a ovulation test and it said i am ovulating also a lil ago.. so i hope this is a new pregnancy and all goes well.... i will know hopefully today if my doctor will hurry and call me back soon. I know for sure I wasn't pregnant almost a week ago and now today i got a faint line on my pregnancy test...oh my god this waitin game is no fun I just want to know if i can get my hopes up again and not be miscarrying again. Thank you all

Cassandrajane hun,Hcg can stay in your body for a lot longer than 3 weeks.believe me been there numerous times.

Yeah but she got a Neg pregnancy test AND she ovulated you can only ovulate if your HCG level is 5 or below! As she took ovulation tests and they came back Pos for ovulation...

I've been there too, yes some people are different but the common stages it stays in your body is 3 weeks!!

Didnt see that comment about her ovulating. :)  know about when we ovulate hun.spent many many years trying to concieve.
After 5 losses each of them it has taken anything up to 6+ weeks for hcg to drop.it depends on how far along you were,and how high your levels were to start with.there is no set time for how long it stays there.Im not starting a debate about it.just stating Hcg can stay in the body for some time.never seen anywhere that states 3 weeks.some women will not have a period for weeks after a mc.

Miscarried September 21st

I did take a ovulation result it said I was ovulating less then a week ago.

My hcg level before i miscarried was only in the 30's.

I took a pregnancy test less then a week ago and it said negative.

I took two pregnancy test today 10/22 and got two very faint, faint lines on both.

I went to my midwife did a urine test...It came back negative...SO????

Did a blood test today 10/22 and I will know the results later this evening.../

So I took a pregnancy test Oct. 18th and it said NO... I took 2 today 10/22 and very faint lines on both...But at my midwife's the urine pregnancy test came back negative...It seems like everything is repeating it's self...I don't know what to do..this all happened last time I had a miscarriage!

If you are getting a positive hpt, and a negative one @ the doctor's maybe the one you took was more sensitive??  I positive is always a positive, unless it was an evap line...

A blood test could tell you for sure.  Or re-test in a day or two, and a darker line should show up.  

I can tell you that I had a m/c in late September (2008) and it took several weeks for my hcg levels to reach zero.  They finally did on Oct. 20.  A few months later, I realized I was pregnant.  By working backwards, I conceived around OCt. 28.  SO it is definitely possible that you could be pregnant and a faint line doesn't mean you are/will miscarry, just that it's very early.

I didn't test early, b/c I was afraid to even hope that I as pregnant.  I waited until Dec. 30 and called my doc (STILL didn't test at home) and she had me come in for an u/s.  The u/s confirmed I was pregnant, and helped to calculate my due date, since I hadn't had a period after my m/c.

My hcg levels are only 26 so it's already starting off the same way as my last miscarriage...i go in for another blood test monday..but i highly doubt they are going to be where they need to be right now...so looks like i am miscarrying again...ugh...
