Pregnant and taking Klonopin 2mg x3 a day

I am currently 10 weeks pregnant, taking 2mg of klonopin x3 a day. I saw a perinatal psychiatrist and she told me the two concerns were that the baby has a small chance of being born with cleft pallet and it might make the baby lethargic. She told me that I should have ultrasounds more frequent than a woman not taking such a high dose.

I'm hoping to hear some responses from some women who took the exact same dose as I am, and how their babies were affected by it, if affected at all.

Well I used to take klonopin aswell with my first son as soon as I found out I was pregnant I stopped and I just smoked weed it helped me a lot I would rather smoke weed any day than to risk my baby coming out deformed I know weed is very controversial but I did a good amount of research and anti anxiety meds have way more possible side effects on baby than weed
I also had extremely severe anxiety I'd pass out a lot from hyperventilation which was why I was on klonapin
But honestly if you try coping methods regularly it gets better I'm now pregnant with baby number 2 have stopped smoking weed and don't take any kind of meds  oh and I have dealt with anxiety for about 8-9 yrs
Good luck

I am currently 17 weeks pregnant. I was taking Klonopin 2 mg x 3 a day but I was planning on pregnancy and dropped down to 2mg a day with 5-10mg of valium. When I became pregnant, I used the medication for the first two weeks and then as needed no more than 3 mg during my first trimester. I now see myself using the medication about 3 mg 3 times a week. I am nervous about my 20 week scan and cleft palate and other issues. you are about two months ahead of me. How has things worked out. I know you were just as nervous as me and came across the negativity and non understanding of how debilitating severe anxiety can be. can you give me your status update of how things worked out. Thanks!

The perinatal psychiatrist I was seeing said her only concern was lethargy with the baby. But I am nervous, I can't lower my dosage because I get extremely anxious and hostile. The only reason I asked for a higher dose is because me being pregnant is causing severe mood swings, but the Klonopin helps tremendously. I just want to know if there are any mommies or pregnant women taking the same dose or close to it.

I'm 16 weeks pregnant. I have had severe anxiety for a year and a half now. I take hydrozine. It helps me and my obgyn says its best while pregnant. I use to be on xanax. I take a low dosage but I'm supposed to take as often as I need . I can take it up to 6 times daily but I try not to go over 3.

I have severe bipolar disorder, as well as anxiety and stress disorders. I was on lamotrigine (anti-psychotic) and seroquel (mood stabilizer). I had quit them before pregnancy, and was told I'd have had to for pregnancy so it was good I had done it before (cuz yanno it was TOOOOTALLY planned :p) but if she's really that concerned about it, I'd suggest discussion about medications that would have less effect on a baby. Could even call your pharmacist about low-side effect replacements for the medication during pregnancy, and switch back afterwards. My psychiatrist is going to be putting me on something else later on when I eventually get off my buttocks to make an appointment, with no risks to baby.
