Question about Discharge (Sorry TMI)

I'll be 24 weeks on Mondays and lately my discharge has increased. Its not everyday but it seems like different. The best way to describe it is like cottage cheese looking. (sorry tmi!!!!) I called my doctor who I have an appointment with on tuesday and she said to wait until tuesday and she said its probably fine. Do you think i have a yeast infection? I had one yeast infection 4 years ago and didn't even know it until my gyno told me. I did not have any symptoms besides discharge. Maybe I have one now and don't even know it becuae it doesn't bother me. Can a yeast infection affect the baby???

It does sound like a yeast infection.  There are a few natural ways to handle this if you are not into over the counter meds.  I have had great success douching with plain yogurt and water.  And also, coconut oil (virgin, clod pressed) is a serious anti-fungal.  You can cook with it or put a scoop in your tea.  It is best to ingest at least 3-4 TBSP per day during infection.   Also, eat plain yogurt, drink lots of water and cut out anything with white and wheat flour and sugar during the infection.  You can also treat vaginal yeast with a homeopathic suppository called Yeast Guard, which I have also found to be really effective.  If you choose to go with a regular Monostat type, do the 7 or 14 day course.
The 1 day and 3 day courses have been know to weaken the amniotic sac.

While a yeast infection will not hurt the baby in utero, it can be passed to the baby during a vaginal birth in the form of thrush.  Thrush is a yeast infection of the mouth which can be treated, but best case scenario is that you kick the infection before the babe comes.

If it is a yeast infection you can take something to treat it and it won't affect the baby in anyway. I'm 25 weeks and my discharge has increased all of a sudden. I've never had a yeast infection (at least not that I know of) and mine is just mostly clear and thick mucous like. It's so gross. Some days are worse than others. But the further along we get, the more we will experience.
